Yakuza is one of them games which is brilliant but no one seems to buy. Why? well you got me there because i dont know. Whats not to like, gangsters, violence, and most importantly a good story. You play as Kazuma, a loyal right hand man to a yakuza gang, and becomes that sucessful that he is about to start his own gang. Until something happens and he ends up in prison for a couple of years. You then begin to see the changes of peoples lives that you knew before you went to prison. And its from here you relise the potential this game has. You go around a free roam(ish) city doing jobs for people and try and unfold the story as you go along. While nearly all the missions rely on you beating the snot out of someone, its still damn good fun. You get a number of moves to use but you can also use items lying around the street and use them as weapons. There is a few issues though. The targeting system in this game is next to non existant and quite frankly makes the fight really hard to do. But once you get the hang of it it really isnt that big of a deal. Also getting lynched by random thugs and being forced into a repetative battle begins to grate too. But when the story is this good though and the actual characters them selfs shine with character, its easy to forgive the poor targeting system and random fights.

Graphics: Great stuff. Not the most amazing graphics seen on PS2 but there not far behind the top.

Sound:great voice acting and the soundtrack is good too (can be repetative at times though...)

Gameplay: While 80% of the game involves bringing out the pain you can also gamble go play baseball even go on date or get drunk. All in all the over all gameplay is fun.

**** box: Repetative random fights, awful targeting, Overall: A great game which while isnt perfect is defo worth a try if you like a good fighting action game with a pulse.
