Great addition to the series.

Yakuza 4 is a great addition to the series, having not yet finished this game i have to say that it is an amazing game. With three new characters as well as the well known Kazuma Kiryu, i wasn't sure i was going to like this, but having played it i was wrong.

The addition to the chracters makes it alot more fun, they each have their own story which will evolove around the other characters, their own fighting style and own background which makes more intriguing and wanting to know more about the characters. These characters you will love are Shun Akiyama, a loan shark, Taiga Saejima, a prison escapee, Masayoshi Tanimura, a police officer and the character which started it all Kazuma Kiryu, a former Yakuza

The graphics are not the best on the PS3 by a long mile, but compared to the graphics of the PS2 it is alot better. The characters are detailed as well as the city of Kamarucho which is the city the game is set.

If you have played previous games in the series, the combat is basically the same. Running around the city and getting into random battles, the square button is to punch, triangle to kick and circle to grab. it will get a bit repetitive from time to time, but it is also alot of fun beating the crap out of people. The chasing sequence from Yakuza 3 has now been upgraded, you get to throw items at your opponent, which isn't much but its fun to do.

As I said before I have not yet completed it but the game has already sucked me in and can not stop playing it, if you are a fan of Japanese games, you will love this one. it is in Japanese language only, so there is a lot and i mean a lot of reading to do. but that gives it the atmosphere and you will feel like you are in Japan. Great game so far and a great franchise, the downside to this is the graphics and that it is basically the same as the previous games, but the story and characters make up for that.
