Xenogears is a "Unique Masterpiece" that is one of Square's Best #1 titles ever even till this day.
Plot: (10/10) You play as Fei Fong Wong. A young man who has lost his memory and meets with a powerful gear that changes everything about his life as he survives with his comrades in the middle of war. As you go on with the story, you'll find out more than you can imagine about this young man, his friends, and of course, his Gear . The plot keeps your guessing, assuming, and wanting more to figure out what goes on next till the very end.
Graphics: (7/10) (Back then) : I like how instead of CGI animation they've decided to use animation for special cutscenes and with voice acting. I really loved that. The regular gameplay graphics aren't so perfect when you compare it to FFVII or FFVIII, but the plot makes your forget about all of that.
Battle System: The battle system is pretty good. When you level up more you get more skills to do combos and techniques like healing to help you and your comrades. It's not complicated, so I'm sure after a few battles you would pretty much get used to it and perhaps addicted. Especially when you get to battle with your party members Gears (every member has a Gear.. I loved it because it felt like an RPG Gundam or Z.O.E)
Overall: 10/10: like I said, it is one of Square's best. When I mean best, I mean Chrono Cross is right behind this one and so is Final Fantasy VIII. If you love a game with a great plot twist and intense story, Xenogears if for you.
