Space sim with dog fighting, vague empire building and more exploring than you'd ever care for (well, maybe) =D
This game is not for the impatient, (although I am normally impatient, I don't rage quit when I die in this game lol) it takes long long looooong hours if your goal is to build rep with the races to max and slowly start trading for profit, then to create factories for more profit while pirating pirate ships simultaneously :), to finally be able to build your own fleets, and own your own capital ships (aka destroyers). IMO rep grinding is stupidly slow, but that's almost okay since you can leave the game on while you sleep in fast mode while your trading ships/factories cash in and you hopefully don't die :), there's always risk ;)
This game has alot to offer, theres constant action in or near pirate sectors, more exploring than you can imagine, and imo this game has one of, if not THE best feeling of satisfaction when you finally accomplish whatever end goals you started for yourself.
To top this off, the community for this game is off the charts, these games are updated like mad, they put those big companies to a shredding shame when it comes to continued support, theres more mods than you can ever imagine, and a very helpful community to help you with whatever choices or problems you may ever encounter.
If you love space, you MUST try this game, you can get this game on ebay for super cheap or get it on steam for 10 bucks, they have the no cd key released so you can take it out of your steam folder, and make an "Egosoft" folder in program files for it and play it whenever, wherever and however.
I didn't give it a 10 because the in game story was a joke if you compare it to other blockbusters
