A decent beat-em-up game that features a large cast of X-men characters.

This isn't the classic X-men arcade game from the 90's. That's a great game that hopefully we'll see on XBOX live eventually. X-men Reign of Apocalypse is an ok game but isn't as memorable as the arcade game. It's still pretty fun though. For a beat-em-up it has some length to it. At the start of the game you get to pick from 4 X-men(Wolverine,Cyclops,Storm, and Rogue) and you stick with them for the 12 or so levels of the game. This game is a must have for X-men fans. The locations you fight in are all from the series and just about every major character makes an appearence. The storyline is strange, I mean you have to fight good guys like the Beast and Gambit at the end of some levels. Classic bad guys are all here as well Magneto,Sabretooth,Juggernaut. Plenty of stuff here to keep the X-Men fan happy.

The action itself is a little dissapointing. Theres one button that only punches. It doesn't turn into a combo or anything like that you just keep punching the villain. The other is a special attack, for example a short optic blast from Cyclops. Combat feels a bit rough around the edges, it would have been nice if they would've cleaned it out a bit more.

In the end this is a decent game. A must have for X-men fans and an overall good beat-em-up game on the GBA.
