Hard-core gamers with an old Genesis should not overlook this game.

In 1995,hard-core games were a dime a dozen-X-Men 2:Clone Wars is no exception. For the people who never played this platformer, here's how it goes:It's hard, very hard, and long, very long. In fact, this game is so long I doudt anyone has ever passed it (not that I know of however). The game has all of the X-Men characters from the comic books:from Wolverine to Cyclops and the blue Beast-everone's favorite X-man is here. The pure awsomeness of this game is arguably the unique abilities of each X-men:Cyclops can attack enemies fom afar by his eyebeam attack, which is awesome, the blue catman(don't remember his real name) can explode then reappear, which is awesome, and Magneto well, floats in the air-not really awesome-but that Wolverine,he's wicked awesome! You can always pick a different character at the end of a level,or if you die-so you don't have to use the same character for the whole game, which keeps things fresh. Clone Wars is problely one of the few games that just starts with no menu-that's right,it just starts! Of course, after you pass the first level thiers a menu screen-but in the same scense that's just brutal! One of the major problems is that the game is just so hard-and long! Plus there's no save points or options at all,so if you lose all your lives, you'll have to start the whole game over. If there was one game that screamed:"I need a save option!",it would be this game. But don't turn away just yet. The combat system in Clone Wars seems to never get tedious, even by beating the same baddie over and over-it always seems fresh. The graphics are nothing to sneeze at,they seem very detailed for it's time. If this game ever comes to Virtual Console,it needs a save option ASAP,but for now ,let's all relive the classic game that so many hard-core gamers out there rejected. Dust off that old Genesis boys!
