The NBA Jam of Wrestling Games (a winning formula!)
Now that i've rubbished my critiical credentials i'm going to tell you why WWF Wrestlemania the arcade game is a beat-em-up classic...
This game is basically the NBA Jam of wrestling games. The cool thing about NBA Jam was that you can do all these crazy dunks and if you get three in a row you set the ball/net on fire. Cool.
The same principle is applied here only it's wrestling that's amped up to those ridiculous levels. When you see WWE guys do a "backbreaker" obviously it doesn't actually goes as far as to break the other guys back or even look like it would do anyway but in this game they get to push the boundaries of realism and it's fun! You break backs, set people on fire, electricute people, hit them with tombstones.... and it all works because the gameplay is so fluid that it's just immensely satisfying!
Also this game happens to feature some of the best use of Combos since Killer Instinct.
Classic arcade action (not great on the consoles but works best on the arcade itself and the PC)
