If you are like me, and you rely on GS for reliable reviews because you can't be blowing $60 on lemons every other week, do me a favor: disregard most of this review. It is honestly baffling. It is absurd that it got the same score as 2k15, for a whole host of reasons, but I'll just focus on two.
The new reversal system is amazing. I have been playing wrestling games since 'Mania on SNES, and this is easily the most entertaining, engaging, realistic reversal system there has ever been in a wrestling game. The depth of strategy that it introduces to the gameplay makes every match genuinely unique, including online which has been terrible in the past because of infinite reversals. The stamina mechanic is challenging but fair, and the roster size is just insane. These alone merit the game at least a 7.5-8, and the creation suite is gargantuan compared to last year.
Seriously- the in-match gameplay is the best it's ever been, and had I relied on GS as I usually do for advice on whether to buy it, I would never have gotten to find that out. Luckily I'm a huge wrestling mark so I was gonna get it either way: if you like wrestling games, get this game. GS really lost me on this one, and I'm not sure how seriously I'll be taking future reviews at least from this guy.
