Great fun with customization, a few minigames, educational tidbits to unlock... little to do afterwards.

World of Zoo DS

With the larger selection of minigames and animal species, the DS version of WoZ can be surprisingly entertaining, at least for a little while. After unlocking all the exhibits, minigames and animal cards, all you have left to do is play with your animals which can get old after a while. The funnest thing about this game getting to customize your animals with different shapes, colors and patterns. There are a few very small, very simple minigames to play, although some are duplicates (ie: same running game for penguin and horse, same fish game for bear and big cats). In addition to the minigames, once you earn enough stars you can unlock National Geographic cards to learn interesting facts about your favorite animals. A note to those with siblings; the DS version only has one save file available.

Species:
1. Bear
2. Panda
3. Koala
4. Big Cat (such as tigers, lions, leopards and lynxes)
5. Alligator
6. Penguin
7. Giraffe
8. Hooved Animal (zebras and gazelle)
9. Elephant
10. Small Monkeys
11. Canid (wolves and foxes) [Exclusive to DS]

Customization:
You can customize the shapes and patterns of body parts in several different colors, depending on the species. You can also choose their size, though the difference between small and large is hardly noticable. There is no gender or baby option in this version but you can choose their name and edit them later if you feel like it.

Overall I'd say World of Zoo DS has a huge lack of challenge and can quickly get boring after easily unlocking your whole zoo. However it's still a pretty fun game for kids and people who like pet games.
