A simple football game which goes too simple, however it's not that bad of a game.

User Rating: 6.5 | World Cup Soccer GEN
World Championship Soccer offers a solid football game, however, the designers aimed to make the game a little too simple. This taking out fouls and hand balls, off sides… the advance features in football are OUT, this includes coin toss.

Goal kicks, corner kicks, tackles, throw on and the simple pass, big kick and shooting the ball is the only things you can do in the game. When you tackle… there a 100% chance you can foul, however there no ref… so long as the ball keeps moving and time is run… you're playing the game.

The character aren't that detailed consider it's overhead… however during corner and goal kicks, you're which too a third person view… where you simply press the D pad and A button to pass the ball.

Also when you pass, it's locked… you can pass to another player flawless. No aiming required.

Considering it's the world cup, there are 24 teams in the whole game… the country and character stats do effect the players in the match… the speed, passing and everything works fine, this is actually interesting and works with the game well. With Brazil being the best team in the game and USA and Japan being the worst… it's fair to say who's going to easily win. Unless you really want to challenge yourself. Championship mode is a straight 3 hour play until you win and clock the game.

The game was release with a budget price tag of $19.95 (£10), which is worth the game if you're a football fan… there were better football games out for the Genesis by then… this is one of those classics who anyone who own Mega Games 1 or typical early 90s game,
