Flawed, but still fun to play

User Rating: 6 | Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus (Deluxe Edition) PC

The game has received a lot of criticism, some of it warranted, the rest, not so much. Does it have technical issues? Personally, I have not encountered any, and my PC is not top of the line. Is it too short? It is certainly shorter than New Order, although still long enough, in my opinion. Is it filled with anti-white prejudice? Not really. There are a couple of characters that express Marxist and anti-white sentiments a couple of times, but it makes sense, given their backgrounds, and they do get called out on it. Is it too easy? Yes, it is; I played on the hard difficulty, same as New Order, and didn’t meet nearly as much challenge. In fact, I hardly met any, combat-wise. I chose to play the game stealthily, without raising any alarms, so the main challenge was staying out of sight. The game could have done with more sections where you would have no choice but to stand and fight, and more boss fights (as in, more than ONE). Did I have fun playing it? Yes, I did. In spite of its flaws, it still has a ridiculous, over-the-top story, memorable levels and brutal action. At a discount price, it is worth the money.
