Wipeout has been a game I liked but never really cared much about. I used to own Wipeout 64 on my N64 before I sold the system and games (which I regret). It was a decent game for the N64 but we never thought much of it or the series. One day while I was downloading demos on my PSP and I came across the Wipeout Pulse demo. I tried it and it was beautiful and fun. I decided “what the hell?” and bought the game. It was a wonderfully addicting game. The game is basically an anti-gravity racing game that is like a crossover between F-Zero and Mario Kart (Plays similar to F-Zero but also has items like Mario Kart). The tracks are fun as hell and the vehicles are very easy to control. You can download new skins for vehicles online from the game itself. One of the coolest features of all is that you can put 30 of you MP3s into the game and listen to them as you play! There is a weird method of doing this, but the game’s manual explains it all. The only complaints about the game I have is that: 1. the company that made the game promised the American versions of the game downloadable race tracks and vehicles. I guess it has to do with the fact that the game isn’t as popular here as it is in Europe (Europe gets all the downloadable stuff for the game). The only other problem is that the game can get extremely hard. The venom and flash classes in the game are manageable, but it gets WAY too fast in rapier and phantom. Plus if the CPU is set at hard, you are going to get killed easy by them if you don’t watch out. Well there you have it. If you have a PSP, I definitely recommend you get this game when you get the chance!
