The game had depth but... well it didn't had the same PS magic.

User Rating: 8.5 | Wipeout 64 N64
Wipeout 64 isn't that but it does not have the same addictive glue found in the PS versions. The game begins with 5 planes and 5 tracks and a wide range of weapons. The main objective of the game is simple, to unlock weapons , tracks and planes. That's pretty much it, as the game doesn't offer the same feel as the PS versions. Although one can have limited amount of fun in the challenges it relatively gets boring for its short range of unlockables.

The graphics is up to par. It doesn't disappoints and lives up to expectations. It can also be said that the graphics is much better then 2097. The BGMs are also good as it does deliver something good to have as a supporting pillar for whatever the action is taking place. They are able to support the fast pace gameplay sequel, Although not as good as its PS version the BGM is pretty much ok.

The stages are decently designed as most of the bends are not that difficult however the lengths of every track disappoints. Rarely any lap exceeds the 1:20 mark. And before you know it the race is over. However it is still acceptable, provided the amount of action taking place in the track. The planes itself are uniquely designed all having their pros and cons. But if only a couple more planes were in the game it would had really been interesting.

To conclude the game had the depth to be a force to reckon with but the short gameplay makes it difficult for anyone to be interested for more then 2 weeks or so. The game isn't that bad but with the short duration and the lack of "the PS magic" ,the game is regarded as boring.
