Great game filled with action, and expert acting talent

User Rating: 9.4 | Wing Commander III: Heart of the Tiger PC
WC III was a great revolutionary game that got me to enjoy a space combat simulator that wasn't tied to Star Wars. Previously, I played X-Wing and TIE Fighter, but I definately thought WC III was just as good, if not better, than those games. While I've heard some complain that maybe the flight engine wasn't quite what they had hoped for, it was still pretty good. When you think of this game though, the top thing that comes to mind is the FMV movie sequences that provide hours of interactive movie goodness featuring an all-star cast with the likes of Mark Hamill (Star Wars), Malcom McDowell (A Clockwork Orange & Star Trek: Generations), John Rhys-Davies (Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade), Jason Bernard (Liar, Liar), Tom Wilson (Back to the Future), Josh Lucas (Sweet Home Alabama) and others such as Ginger Lynn Allen, a popular adult film star.

Of course seeing so many familiar actors in a computer game was astonishing and made the game all the more enjoyable, but WC III also provided your typical good vs. evil plot that was just as good, if not better than the average for PC games. WC III graphics were excellent for its day and that combined with the talent and action driven game play made for one incredible game.

While the other Wing Commander games are fun, and I have since played most of them, I would definately say that for the time of its release and the revolutionary introduction of FMV sequences and 3D graphics into the series, WC III is by far the BEST of the Wing Commander series.
