Although it seems like it's just another typical heroes fight the bad guys, theres a lot more to it than just that. . .

As far as RPGs go, most are pretty straight forward: Hero A and his friends stop Villain B from destroying the planet or taking control. Wild Arms 4, however is much different from what is typical for most RPGs.

For the story, it goes far deeper than just the average saving the world. Each character (being the ages of 13-19) are developing, learning and reaching to the Adulthood stage. Although there seems to be a bad guy to the flavor, the question is are their motives what makes them bad guys? Corrupt yes, control hungry yes, but evil? What truly defines that word? This installment of the Wild Arms series explores that question as the adventure progresses.

The battle system is something new introduced by the developers compared to basic turn based. The Hex system is later carried out in follow ups of the WA series. It allows the player more freedom in the battlefield than just pick a command and select an opponent to attack. It also provides more of a challenge for players which requires a bit of strategy in order to obtain a victory. A nice touch added by Japanese developers. ^_^

The soundtrack is very addicting. Once you hear it, you feel like you want to get the OST for it. It provides the mood which is set with the game itself and for the characters personas along with certain and key situations. Very nicely composed if you ask me.

Overall, this is one of those games that is a must buy. There's more to it than just running around leveling up and beating the bad guy. The story will definitely drag you in and not let you stop playing until your through.
