An expanded version of Wii Sports. More fun too.

I never really got into the first Wii Sports that much. For sure it was a good game and all, and a great first game for a Wii owner, but after a while (even with friends) it got pretty boring. This is probably due to the fact that there were only four games and they weren't really that deep. Wii Sports Resort changes this: instead of having just a few games that involve doing the same thing over and over again, there's some considerable depth to everything here, from sword fighting to flying an airplane. In sword fighting, you can actually carefully time and aim your hits on the opponent, and block the attacks by positioning the Wii remote in a certain direction. Not to mention everything is pretty accurate to real life as well.

Remember I mentioned riding an airplane? Yup, that's right. You get to explore the little island where you're playing all these games and it's pretty interesting to get to know all the areas and monuments. Too bad there's a time limit, I certainly wouldn't mind spending an hour or so without interruption seeing all the sites.

If you squint, there's actually a little plotline. You're Mii apparently came here for a vacation and sky dived his way down. I dunno. I think it's neat. Overall, the gameplay is a blast not only because it's so fun, but because it's fun even without friends. You don't need to call the neighbors to come over or convince some friends to play to get the most of this title. That's a huge plus.

Graphics? Simple yet bright and colorful, Wii Sports Resort contains some of the Wii's best graphics. There's even a fair amount of detail on the courses/courts and throughout Wuhu Island. Good stuff.

Although there are a couple of control problems here and there, I love this game. Mark this one as a must have for Wii owners, because it really is.
