If you have a Wii, you have the Wii Channels. Basically they're a set of channels which come with the console to make it more fun. But what exactly are they?
Disc Channel: Basically, this is a channel to play games. You can't do anything else.
10/10

Mii Channel: One of the features that made the Wii famous (and that other consoles have copied), is the ability to create avatars similar to you but cartoonish, which are used in some games. The variety you can create is incredible. There're infinite combinations, you just need some creativity to make them, and you can also make your Mii very similar to you. You can also send your Miis to your friends or they can send them to you. Even if they don't send them, they can put it in a space where all their friends can grab them. There's also a Mii plaza which isn't that amusing. It's basically a place where Miis interact.
10/10

Photo Channel: This is a channel where you can put your pictures from the SD card or from Wii games. You can send, receive, edit pictures and even play puzzle with them. It's pretty neat.
9/10

News Channel: In this channel you can see the news. It's nothing incredible, but it's interesting, since you can navigate through the different countries and see their news.
8/10

Weather channel: In here you can see the weather from the whole world and choose your favorite city for it to show on the Wii menu so you don't have to enter the channel.
8/10

Check Mii-Out Channel: In this channel you can upload your creations and get some from the whole world. There's also contests with different themes like "Mario" or "A man who hates kids" and you can upload your Miis for them and vote for the ones you want to win. It's pretty fun and the creativity put in Miis is incredible. There are National and International Contests.
10/10

Everybody Votes Channel: In this channel, there are many polls in which you can vote. It's fun and it doesn't require too much time. You can obviously see results or submit polls you'd want to see in the channel.
8/10

Nintendo Channel: The best channel. Here you can watch videos, download DS Demos, watch a show called Nintendo Week which is released every year, rate games, look at game ratings, and look at your game play time. You can also rate videos. Overall it's really fun and it can entertain you for hours.
10/10

Wii Shop Channel: It's a channel where you can buy games (new wii games or old snes, nes, n64, etc.) and you can also download channels. It's really accesible and easy to view.
10/10

Conclusion: Implementing the Wii Channels was a really good idea. Some channels aren't as entertaining as others, but overall, the whole package makes for a fun experience, that maybe you won't use for too long, but it can entertain you some time. The only contra could be that they require wi-fi.
