A unique game that is THE REASON you should buy a PSP.

In my opinion, the strangely named 'What did I do to deserve this, my lord?! 2 is one of the best and underrated games on the PSP system. I suppose that the title must put many people off. It's unique concept is hard to describe, and I highly recommend that you download the demo before buying, to understand the story and mechanics of the game. Heres my attempt to sum up this awesome game.

It is basically a castle defense game with a twist. You must dig a labyrinth out of the soil, releasing creatures and monsters from nutritious soil as you go. As the master of the labyrinth, the 'God of destruction'v you must manipulate the behavior of these creatures in order to create an ecosystem and a balanced food chain in order to create stronger monsters. After a while, the villains of the game, the 'heroes' will come and try to destroy your labyrinth and capture the overlord of the labyrinth: 'Badman', whom you have to place in the safest possible position in the labyrinth before the heroes come. You have to make sure that your monsters are strong enough, and your labyrinth design efficient enough to dispatch the heroes before the cart off overlord badman.

The game has eight stages, each stage containing between three and eighteen levels. The first level is very easy, but the game ramps up the difficulty quickly, and the third stage onward will take you numerous attempts to complete. In the later stages, the last hero you have to face in each stage is a boss who is annoyingly difficult, but gives you a huge feeling of satisfaction when you finally vanquish him.

The game's graphics are reminiscent of the SNES or Sega Mega drive, but they are extremely well done, look fantastic, and really add to the game's charm. They also mean that load times in this game are almost nonexistent. The character of Overlord Badman is very well done, with witty, but not annoying dialog from him popping up on the screen at regular intervals to congratulate you, or tell you off according.

One thing to note though, if you buy this game from Amazon UK or any other UK retailer, the european UMD copy of 'What Did I Do to Deserve This, My Lord!? 2' does NOT include the first game as advertised on this page. I have no idea why the game's publishers decided to omit it from the the EU copy of the game, but the L,R,L,R,L,R,L,R cheat does not work, all it does is bring on a long rant from Badman about how you have pained him by entering the cheat. Other owners of the EU version of this game have reported the same issue.

This is the only fly in the ointment for this otherwise fantastic game. Try out the demo first, and if you enjoy it, you will not regret buying this game.
