Huge Improvement Over We Ski
First, open terrain, need I say more? Instead of 15 trails it is an open mountain.
Second, no more scoring as you run the trails. Wait a minute, there AREN'T any trails! I guess that kills the scoring!
Third, you can do tricks on ANY jump! Not just the orange ones!
Fourth, no more chair lift! Did anyone bother to actually ride that thing?
Fifth, snowboarding AND skiing! Nice change!
Sixth, cliff jumping, can anyone say more???? My first jump resulted in guffaws of laughter from my wife telling me you are INSANE while the game gave me an award for being a couple french fries shy of a Happy Meal!!!!
Now let's look at the negatives.
First. still no half pipe! Big thumbs down! (Addedum here, found the half pipe but so far only in competition mode. There is a half pipe area in the Kraken area. But no specific terrain park (so far) where the half pipe can be continuously hit to practice tricks off of it.)
Second. slalom on a snowboard????? I DON'T THINK SO!!!!!!
Third, still no ski patrol to clean up your body parts when you yard sale!
Fourth, the helicopter ride is outrageously boring. Can't we spice that dude up? How about some sort of air disaster that requires us to ski uncharted terrain to call for the rescue of the crash victims????
Overall I think this edition is a HUGE improvement even though it stills lacks. I am having a great time checking out the terrain to see what is out there. The challenges are lame @$$ just like the previous game. It is WAY too childish in the characters but still entertaining to play. I think my We Ski game just got retired! I haven't tried the skiing yet. Having too darn much fun right now with the snowboard!
