Blowing Stuff Up. Nuff Said.

User Rating: 6.7 | World Destruction League: WarJetz PS2
WarJetz For PS2.

I remember looking through a bunch of PS2 games at the local Office Depot one day, searching for a game that looked good. And then I saw it: War Jetz. Now I didn't look the game up on websites to see the how the ratings were or see if the controls were good or anything. Nope, I took a chance and bought War Jetz. I remember getting home and putting the game in my system, waiting to see if my instincts were correct or did I bomb. Five minutes later I was in heaven.

Gameplay : It is just unbelievable how much fun it is to blow stuff up. Hey, you get to blow up the Statue Of Liberty! The missions you have to do include annihilating subways, destroying your enemies, escorting convoys, and grabbing hundreds of dollars in cash. That's right, there's cash just floating in mid air throughout the levels and it is your job to grab the most money than your opponent. I love the San Francisco level where the money shoots out of the ground like a geyser whenever there is an earthquake. Also too, you don't have to use the same aircraft throughout you mission, you get to pick a secondary plane before the mission that you can use whenever you collect a certain icon.

Graphics : The graphics are detailed and well done, my only complaint is when you blow up particular items, the debris tends to be blocky and jagged looking. But the planes and explosions are nicely done. I just love watching those atom bombs explode!

Sound : There's no music during the missions, at least none that I heard of. But the sound effects are really awesome like when launch bombs on the ground below or you take out a battleship. Also too, throughout the levels, you get to hear some of the funniest comments from the commentators, Kate Maxwell and Jimmy ''Hell Catz'' Jackson. My favorite one is, ''Today's forecast looks like rain; bombs that is!''

The controls are comfortable and easy to learn. The game uses every button on the controller yet 3DO managed to keep it all so simple. Very few games have created such a gem.

Pros:
-You can wreck havoc on all that you see!
-Funny commentators
-Awesome control

Cons:
-Debris to jagged looking
-No music

If you like destruction games or flight sims, this game is for you. If you think they are okay, rent first then maybe buy later.
