Another great adventure with the fat anti-hero.

Wario, like him or not, the games he's in are usually great stuff. Wario Land 4 is no exception, and it's exactly what fans of previous games would want. A great platformer adventure with cool bosses, great graphics and creative and fun levels. It's got all of these things nailed down. But I wish there would've been more than 6 bosses in the game. Wario Land 3 had 12, if I remember correctly. Still, they're nicely designed and fun to fight. One of the differences from the previous game, is that you now can die. Lose all your hearts and you're out of the level. But the game is quite easy, I only think I died twice.

The 4 treasure chest stuff from WL3 is gone. Here you have to collect 4 artifacts, and a bird thing with a key for a nose and then find a frog with a bomb, then you have to escape to the beginning of the stage, within a given time in order to complete the level. Sounds weird, works great. And finding the stuff you need is not as big a hassle as it was in WL3. The game is much, much shorter than that game as well. Remember all the crazy stuff Wario could turn into in WL3? Well, here he can turn into about one third of those things. Kinda disappointing. He can't even turn into a vampire, just the bat. I know the vampire form in WL3 was completely useless, but it was a nice detail. Game looks and sounds great. It also has a very unusual ending for a Wario game

If you love platformers, there really is no good reason to skip Wario Land 4. Now, if only there could be another Wario Land for the DS. I know "Master of Disguise" is available, but I'm staying far away from that game.
