Call of Duty Medieval Warfare =P

User Rating: 6 | War of the Roses PC
This game can be fun, it's largely based on Mount and Blade, Call of Duty and/or Battlefield. The combat system is very immersive and complex, but it has it's flaws. You swing left, right, stab, or hammer your sword from above depending on what direction you move the mouse when you take the swing. You block the same way. The idea is good, and it worked very well on Mount and Blade, but in this game, most of the time your hits don't register, you hit an enemy with heavy armor and do NO damage. Stab someone with your two handed sword and just do 2 or 3 damage... and sometimes you block but the enemies swing seems to go through your block and kill you with one swing. This game can be very frustrating, and if you get in a battle vs more than 1 enemy you are pretty much dead unless you are very lucky or very good. 1v1 battles are great and intense, but the spawn system will sometimes have enemies spawn on their allies, and you'll be playing an intense 1v1 and suddenly have 2 enemies spawn on him and murder you. The game modes are not very varied, you just have your basic TDM and Domination, (it's called something else but it's basically the same idea). They are promissing to add new game modes in the future, but right now that's all you get. The character customization is very similar to modern shooters, you pick class, main weapon, secondary weapon, dagger, shield (if you want one) armor, helmet, perks, etc. This works well, but some classes feel unbalanced. A knight with heavy armor will be very hard to take down, unless you have the right perks, and weapon upgrades.

I enjoyed this game a lot at first, but the more I played it the more I started hating it. It can be good at times, but mostly very frustrating. I find it hard to recommend this game.
