I was recently given a psp for christmas and this was the 1st game i unwrapped for it.Inititaly i was dissapointed, i wanted a high octane fighter game with lashings of blood and violence.My heart sank when i unwrapped the gift to find virtua tennis waiting for me.But after playing the other games i was given, i found virtua tennis lying under the christmas tree and decided to at least give it a chance.I am so glad i did.As the menu came up i was given several options.I chose a quick game as i was sure it would be my last.However i was blown away with the graphics(this is ps2 quality at least!).the gameplay(very easy to play,simple yet effectively challenging), the sound(realistic tennis sounds,the players strain,the ball hitting the cour and the gentle applause of the audience).You are able to choose between all the main tennis players out in the world to date(roddick,henman,federer..to name but a few).You have a choice of modes, tournament,world tour,exhibition,quick match and ball games. these are all highly entertaining and sometimes suprisingly dificult. The games are incredibly entertaining with an highly arcade like feel to them.Even if you are like me and not an tennis enthuisast,please dont hesisate to pick up this game as it requires basically no knowledge of tennis and how it is played. It is fast,simple and a lot of fun. The 1st game you should buy after purchasing your psp!
