Revolution is stopped short without the online features that would have made this an increasingly playable. Fight on!
User Rating: 8 | Virtua Fighter 5 PS3
Returning 17 characters from the previous "great" Virtua Fighter 4 and VF4: Evolution brawlers. Those were underhandedly one of the best fighting games for it's time. In this latest installment. two new fighters, El Blaze and Eileen and a special released character, Jean Kujo; take the fighting stage. The fighting is fast and furious. The combinations and unique fighter's special attacks brings a variety of crushing blows, stun-counters, and high hitting combos that instantly rings-out an opposing character or breaks through the stage's ring. The obvious gorgeous details give emphasis in an actual realism to the ring stages you would fight on. It's greatly improve from the mid 90's release of the original, with lackluster polygonal box like shapes and sock-em robotic characters to fluid graphics and realistic looking 3-D characters and interactive environments. The only thing that would have made this game better is the online feature in which it lacked in it's debut. Seriously, can SEGA and AM-2 remake and online edition for the PSN for those die-hard gamers to really duke it out? Like the recession that goes on with today's economy. It's only a matter of time before the stack of cards begin rto crumble. Sa-lut.
