Gamespot missed the mark on this review!

I don't want to bash the formal review of this game, but I will say that it does not deserve a 5.0. Normally, anything with the word "Viking" in it is going to get my attention, but due to the poor review of this game here, I initially passed on it when it came out. So recently, I saw it for sale as a used game (for cheap) and thought I'd satisfy my initial curiosity.

When I booted it up and saw that this game was made by Creative Assembly I thought, "How can this game be that bad if it's made by those guys?" The answer is that it's NOT that bad. Not worthy of a 5.0 anyway. It certainly has it's minor flaws, admittedly, but it's simply not THAT bad, folks.

I'd be the first to admit that it's no Gods of War and actually, it's a bit of a throwback ... But, I would also politely suggest that if you like this kind of game and have the opportunity to at least give it a try, I would recommend that you do so. It's kept me entertained the last couple of days and I still have a ways to go to finish. Just give it a chance, I don't think you'd regret it.
