Waiting for the white version. Then again, I usually need to charge my wireless headphones and a controller at the same time, and there is no elegant solution apart from just the cables...

Yay for Inductor Coils.
what a waste of time, why didn't they make it more versatile like plug into a wall by your sofa? so instead of plugging my pad into the usb cable, i still have to get up and place it on the console?? plus i cant play my game like i can with the usb lead attached. frustratingly annoying
Not very convenient if you have a bluetooth adapter for your wireless headset either like wolf503 said add female sub ports to it and it might just work out... Maybe... Also how would the magnets hold up if your ps4 is on a vertical stand? Which mine just so happens to be are they strong enough to hold the controllers vertically? I give a B- on creativity and functionality.
They should have added female ports on the outside to allow you to use those 2 ports if need be. I like the idea cause I like to leave my controller on top of my PS4 when I'm not using it and I hate leaving a loose cable out since it's in my room, on my desk and I'm always worried about getting caught on the wire and pulling the controller or PS4 off the desk. If they can create a version with USB ports on it; I think it'd go from an okay idea to a pretty damn good 1. Although I kind of wonder why they didn't do that to begin with.
What's the point of it being wireless if it has to stay in one place for it to charge?
@skayj2: That's what wireless charging is....................................... look ma, no wires.
to charge and play with this, just plug your controller into something else with usb lol, not a dilemma
Not really great in any way of form i think. Specially if u have your machine standing up, like i do. And i dont want to walk over to my PS4 to pick up the controller to play. Its close to my sofa instead, with a long mini usb wire :)
And here I thought they found a way to digitally modulate all-1's over the air, using the amplitude to charge the controllers battery...
Instead, they made another docking station to charge your controller...
Kinda playing it fast and lose with the word wireless. It still needs a dongle to connect with the add on.
More pointless tat from nyko.
Would have been good if they made it with usb ports on the front since it takes up both already.
I still don't get why don't doesn't let us turn the light off. I can turn it off when I use it on my computer, lol, and Sony can't even let us officially do it? People aren't going to forget how to turn it on if they but the eye thing...

cool idea but im happy with the genuine ps4 charge cradle
Going by the title I expected a wireless device that charges your controller while you play, not this..
@GamerYnoX: So you basically expected magic?
@ibonedyourmom@GamerYnoX: Not quite, tis a thing that is coming supposedly.
@kyelo@ibonedyourmom@GamerYnoX: it's been coming since Tesla.
how is this wireless? seeing it has to be sitting in the port/.?
@tsunami2311: theres no wires to the controller. it's simple induction charging. i've had this for the Wii for a few years
They couldn't put 2 usb ports on top of the ones they use to allow people to play AND charge? Seems pretty stupid.
I have one. I like it. The charge light doesn't work on mine though, but I actually prefer it that way so I don't have to stare at the Nyko logo all the time.
I'm sure at some point it will be utilized, but I'm not sure why the Dual Shock 4 has to be equipped with an always-on light that is visible from space. The life of a fully charged controller is about 1/5 of the Dual Shock 3, so I've bought a 10 foot cable and basically play with it plugged in the entire time. That stupid light is blinding and makes it hard to plug the cable into the port on the controller as well!
@trophywhore: just do what i did, buy a 2000mah battery and change it..i get dualshock 3 play time and i spent 5 bucks on the new battery.
@haze0986@trophywhore: and voided any warranty
@RobDev@haze0986@trophywhore: like i said, i get ds3 length , id say its worth not being able to return a controller that dies in an hour anyway
@haze0986@RobDev@haze0986: an hour? i'd say return your obviously faulty controller if you hadn't voided your warranty.
It was confirmed by tech that the light draws extremely little energy from the battery. It is the vibration that should be turned off to conserve battery life.
I don't believe that. We watch a lot of movies and the controller dies constantly...
Dude, set your remote for a 10 minute auto shut off or you will grow to hate your system:)
@layhoma2004@Pelican170: Duuude, I do have it set. God forbid if the thing sits on the couch with you and you move, then it doesnt turn off... Horrible... So it only turns off if it is on a level surface without movement.. Pretty stupid programming...
@trophywhore: you can turn it down
Yea but it doesn't help the battery life. These things are horrible. I charge them almost everyday!
@Pelican170: Personally if I could I'd turn the pad, speaker and light off if I could.
@tomahawk08@trophywhore: how do you do that?
@fig56@tomahawk08@trophywhore: Settings | Devises | Controllers | Brightness...
What part of this is wireless? I guess they got me to watch the stupid advertisement. But, fu GameSpot.
@jakesnakeel: The part where there's no wires.
Or you could just let us put AA batteries in the damn things.
@indy2005: those dont ever need recharging or replacing... like ever.
@leviathanwing@indy2005: No but instead of buying all kinds of rubbish addons, a single set of batteries and charger would do for everything.
Or... buy a USB extension cable for next to nothing.
Then you can do the real next gen thing: play while charging! O...M...G...! MIND! BLOWN!
