Locke & Key was originally an IDW Publishing comic series written by Joe Hill and illustrated by Gabriel Rodriguez. Hill is the son of Stephen King and a skilled horror author in his own right.

Locke & Key is the story of the Locke family, which includes the three Locke siblings, Tyler, Kinsey, and Bode, their mother Nina, and their uncle Duncan. The inciting incident is their father Rendell's murder.
