I'm liking the new engine and how it seems to be able to handle flying objects like blimps. I'm also interested in how they'll make it open for mods. What is a Bethesda game without user mods?
@amdreallyfast: Actually, it does look like the usual Gamebryo, i'm a bit concerned about that, not much on the graphics front but the bugs man .. the bugs.
@CaptainBerserk: Still Gamebryo? Bummer. But visual fidelity matters less to me in Bethesda games that an open world to explore and user mods.
I would be very happy if the Gamebryo engine developed environment streaming to avoid load screens even when entering houses and stores. Witcher 3 and Arkham Knight are setting a new bar for environment streaming. I won't hold my breath, but it would be great for the world if this engine used some kind of environmental streaming to avoid most loading screens.
@amdreallyfast: Hopefully Skyrim's situation encourages them to go even further with mod support.
@hystavito: I hope so. And I hope that it inspires the devs behind the Gamebryo engine to look at those mods and make them standard. Some of the most popular mods for Skyrim were visual mods, which means that the default game wasn't really up to par.
While visual fidelity is second to me over gameplay, I'd like to see the engine running Fallout 4 upgraded to this decade, especially since it has a very large PC audience with wide access to DX11, and soon to DX12.

@amdreallyfast: What do flying objects have to do with the engine? It's not like the engine is compiling procedural lift and weight data... it's just a scripted entity.
@oldtobie: I was thinking that, given the blimp and the tall buildings and the elevator in the trailer that there might be a vertical aspect to the world and to gameplay, much more so than previous Bethesda games. The flight path may be scripted, but if the blimp could be boarded in real time, that would be awesome.
@amdreallyfast: I agree. That would be pretty awesome.
Couple of weeks, then we will know?
Toward the end of the trailer you can see the family featured earlier get vaporized on top of Vault 111..so it's unlikely you'll be playing as any of their descendants.
@jwrebholz: Yeah that's what I and many others have been saying, it just doesn't work. I was also saying that if you're one of the other people who is allowed into the vault, you wouldn't get to see that happen, but of course they could just add it in to make the point that you were one of the lucky ones. Still the 200yrs thing, like Danny says maybe you play that segment as one of your ancestors. Or, I can't recall, was there any cryo-sleep stuff in past Fallout games?
@hystavito: There was a Vault in FO3, I forget which one, that had its dwellers in a state of suspended animation, stuck in a sort of Matrix-like environment. I think that's as close as they got.
Cheers Danny. If this come out in 2015 I'll eat my hat!
@theteaface: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/general-election-2015/11591436/Paddy-Ashdown-I-will-eat-my-hat-if-that-poll-is-right.html I really hope you have to eat your hat. ;) I want Fallout so bad.
@andrew-199314: Me too! I would happily chomp a chapeau, if I meant I got my hands on Fallout. I'm just trying to think of when a triple A has been release the same year as it was officially announced!
As long as the graphics look good in this game like they are supposed to with next gen, then I'll buy it.
@streetz_86: Unfortunately, next gen is more like 1.5 gen so don't get your hopes up. Or play it on PC where it will look awesome.
@streetz_86: So the graphics are literally the only thing that would hold you back from buying it...? Hm
@hagens09: Good graphics = A good game, bro
Bethesda is a special kind of awesome, I prefer fallout 3 over Skyrim ;X
If the Sox didn't make it, then clearly the Yankees didn't either =)

nice, that intro is great, actually comes off looking like you've gone a little nuts :]
good vid, lots of good observations.....that would be really cool if they did playable prewar section......
@MJ12-Conspiracy: This won't happen but...
Imagine they made the entire world or nearly all of it in both pre and post war state. After you complete the main story you gain the ability to switch between them any time :). Even if there was nothing really to do in the pre-war, it would still be awesome to go and re-explore it all.
Thanks for increasing my interest level in this game even further. I wish they give at least an approximate release date.
I feel like I'm the only person that doesn't like Fallout and isn't looking forward to or care about Fallout 4. I just don't like Bethesda games in general either. Anyone else out there?
@GrayFlare: You're right. You might be the only one. That feeling... is REAL.
@OkRaider88: @GrayFlare Nahh, lots of gamers don't care about Fallout, lots of gamers don't even know what it is.
It's just that most of them probably don't browse gaming sites and also don't know or care about a lot of other games as well :).
@hystavito: Nah, he's alone :P
6 weeks to E3? what? Did I heard wrong? Isnt it 16 of this month?

@Vatusus: That was from last year's video.
@dannyodwyer: Oh, ok. Missed the "One year earlier" thingy at the start. :|
The movement of the guy and his dog just looks so jerky, so unnatural and janky...No idea what to expect.
@foodrules: Yes and also the characters seem kinda placed "onto" the environment if you know what I mean.
I'm OK with that I guess, as long as it's not so bad as to be distracting or annoying. Animations, well I'd imagine it's kind of a side effect of having a combat system that blends real time with turn based.
I just hope the Unprofessional Fridays appearance was part of this video.
And I also hope the leaked information wasn't too spoiler-heavy.
