Mad Max will be way better with new mechanics. Bethesda is getting old. Really old.
@nomailx: lol no. You must have been experimenting with jet to say something silly like that! Your saying a game based off a movie will be better than fallout 4? Maybe in your world. The real world...not so much.
@nomailx: yeah I got to agree with you, I played Fallout New Vegas last night and it felt so clunky and outdated I hope they do something to change that.
I've got no problem with an older game but if they don't make some defining game changes for Fallout 4 I can't see myself bothering to buy it.
@nomailx: Actually, Terminator X RGP series will be a lot better with even newer mechanics.
Danny's buddy Andy really knows how to film/edit, these videos are always fantastically done.
@bluefox755: Indeed! I wouldn't mind getting some lessons from him
Fantastic! The Point is great and nicely produced as ususal. Watched Irish Coffee earlier today with Fallout 3 which was fun see since my initial F3 experience years ago. New Vegas was excellent and added more customization elements and a decent story and DLC to boot. Hopefully Fallout 4 is what we've been waiting for. I don't give a flyin' F about the possible mediocre graphics in this reveal trailer. It was a trailer and means nothing until we see game play. Either way I'm playing Fallout for the story and the adventure, Not the graphics. I'll probly get it on PS4 and once the GOTY releases I'll get the PC version.
I'm really looking forward to this game, but there is just one thing, please for the love of god don't let Troy Baker be the voice of the protagonist. He's a good voice actor but damn can't they use someone else?
@yavix: can we stop with the Troy Baker thing, please?! It wasn't him. The entire trailer was voiced by Ron Perlman, including the main character. Now, I don't know if he's doing that for the entire game aswell, but it wasn't frikin Troy Baker. Some idiot said it sounded like Troy Baker and now everyone's up in arms about it.
@7tizz: I don't remember any fetch quests in Fallout 3 or New Vegas. Maybe you should stick to Advanced Warfare and Destiny, there's nothing wong with that. In fact, it's better to admit you suck at role playing games than to make a fool of yourself.

The Point is just amazing. Fantastic work, Danny!
i have to ask, what music did you use for the end?
@cleevergreen: I would also like to know!
@omotih: What do you mean test ?
the graphics are good enough I don't care about that, as long as it looks better than 3 and NV I'm happy. What worries me is the whole voiced protagonist thing, I hope we still get character customization and aren't stuck with a set, named guy. and I hope we aren't stuck with a linear storyline and it's still very much an open world rpg. I hope they aren't turning the game from something like skyrim to something more like mass effect.
@Ayzed: So it never bothered you that your character could always talk, but you - the frikin player - were the only one who couldn't hear him/her? And what's up with Mass Effect? There's plenty of customization, and having only one voice per gender takes nothing away from the role playing experience. Have you played any Fallout or Elder Scrolls games to the end? The main plots are pretty much very linear, just like Mass Effect's or Dragon Age's. You could argue that since you are playing the role of the main character, you are the one to actually speak with your own voice, but let's face it, you've never even read those dialogue choices, have you? Voice acting for the main character is a step forward, not a step back. The Witcher seems to be a good frikin series.
Everyone is whining about the graphics. The only thing that looks ugly is the dog and the man, and those are just texture and animation problems. The environments look awesome. Everyone's comparing it to The Witcher, which I don't really think looks a whole lot better. They just did a really good job with character models and gave them fancy specular maps, and put a bunch of bloom and DoF on everything. Sure, The Witcher looks great, but this game isn't "last gen" just because it doesn't have a bunch of post-FX filters over it.
Bethesda will have to add some tacky motion blur shaders and some lens artifact sprites, maybe just, you know, blur literally everything on the screen a little, to make people happy.
@oldtobie: That's a pretty biased argument if I ever heard one.Witcher 3 has beautiful character models and facial animations. The environment looks decently nice.Fallout 4 has wonderful looking environments and really nice lighting. Textures are kind of meh overall. That's what I think of that.
@Duke_51: If you wanted, we could make it scientific and look at texture resolutions and the presence of those aforementioned post-FX. What I said ABOUT the effects is an opinion, and you could argue that it's biased. But what I STATED was fact. Witcher 3 IS loaded with those things, and Fallout clearly is not. I just want people to look past the lack of them. Again, you could argue that the lack of a plethora of effects is what makes the game ugly, but my opinion is that that's false.
@oldtobie: I hear ya, I'm not talking about a lack of effects as the cause of the whining though. Like you said, the animations and the textures are just.. kind of ugly. I mean, it's not a big deal. I'm still gonna play, still (probably) gonna love it, but yeah, as far as character and monster models/animations go.. they're just 'eh.'But hey man, that's just me.
Nice video EXCEPT the Yankees play for NYC, I think you meant to say "Do the Red Sox still exist?"
I hope the Cheers bar is shown and you can go in and it is fully rendered and explorable and you're able to go upstairs to Melville's restaurant.

@afmsasmth: No I understand which team plays where - I'm just wondering if Yankee stadium is as protected as Fenway was.
Agreed on the Cheers bar though!
Looks like the id Tech engine.
@ps3gamer1234: I don't think so. Id tech's mega texture technology uses as much as 40 gb of texture data for even linear games like Wolfenstein the New order. For a game as big as Skyrim with so many gameplay systems build in, I simply don't see it happening. I think they are using an updated version of the Creation Engine they used previously in Skyrim.
Always awesome to watch the Point; even when I left Gamespot for other sites(before coming back recently) I still always loved watching Danny O'Dwyer's work!
@Eazy1891: Or go on other sites at the same time. I have profiles on other sites.
@ps3gamer1234: The reason I left Gamespot in the first place is because I found that their information and reviews weren't exactly genuine...stuff like that. So I got my news and reviews elsewhere. Nowhere in my comment did I say that I only go on this site or that site...I clearly state that I just LEFT this one.
@ps3gamer1234: I always think it's weird when people act like an account on a website is like a homeland. Like when Tumblr and 4chan have "raids" and stuff. It's a website people. Get a grip. lol.
I haven't played Fallout since New Vegas. Time to unlock some long forgotten vaults again.
The Graphics is last gen.
@noobertosolano: And? There could be a few reasons why that is. If the game runs at 60fps across all platforms then its not a isssue.
@noobertosolano: who cares its story and gameplay thats matter the most
Great episode Danny. One of your best.
I'd actually like to hang out with this guy. Shame it probably wouldn't happen!
I've got money put aside for this game, I'm leery on pre-order, though..
@Bastion00: Would you prefer to hang out with regular Danny or the dirtier post-apocalypse Danny?
@hystavito: Probably regular Danny.
I just noticed in the trailer, where the supposed "Mysterious Stranger" is walking, it's actually raining.
I don't think weather was left out of previous games because there WAS no weather, but because they felt it didn't really add anything to it. Maybe now we'll see things like, "When it is raining, Mirelurks have 10% increased speed on land."
@Brakkyn: I dunno why everyone thinks it's the mysterious stranger.. because he's dressed similarly? I'd almost bet all my male genitalia that it isn't the mysterious stranger.
@Brakkyn: Well there was weather in New Vegas but only during the Honest Hearts DLC and it was nothing more than a little bit of rain.
However I do agree. The different types of weather can be used to provide some innovtative gameplay, as you said like increasing the spawn chance of Mirelurks.
I also wouldn't mind a wild wasteland trait again. But this time I want the Mirelurks to turn into SweetrollLurks :) because then no one can steal those epic sweet rolls.
Somebody failed grammar.
Great observations. Better than all the complains about graphics and voice acting I've been seeing all over the internet.
