My god I am loving the new Fallout color scheme! It is gorgeous, its crazy to imagine how many hours we will be spending running around discovering a huge world with those amazing graphics! :)
Fat boy? It's fat man! The code name for the plutonium-core, implosion-type atom bomb the U.S. first tested and then dropped on Nagasaki in 1945.
Go back to watchin Moone boy, Yeh fekken tosser!
HOLY SHIT THAT IS SCARY.
So my name on steam is Mysterious Stranger...and he called me Mysterious Stranger.
Plot twist: The man who spoke is an npc. The player character is the dog.
I usually don't get too psyched for games, but this is one game I have been wanting for a long time! Great stuff as usual Danny, it reminded me of EFMS!
This is something I never understood about hte Fallout series, and no, Mr. HArdcore gamers I did not play Fallout 1 and 2 but WHY if the world ended in 2077 does everything come off like it is 1954? See I thought the world ended in 1954 and that is why everything is like that.
@datownywitcher: Because, basically, human beings developed along a different timeline, which corresponded with the lacking resources.

@myststranger: They had less computers and more mechanical and robotics in there time line. Think if we had no gates or jobs to push the personal computer along, instead having a mr. house to build robotic machines which in turn made the need for electronics less, and when wars broke out it was the robotics not electronic processing that was pushed into faster development.
I live literally right across the street from Bunker Hill Monument. I hope they get Charlestown right.
back to the wasteland!
Very nice preview, looks like some fun times ahead for Fallout 4, i cant wait to hear more about the game. I was hoping they would remove V.A.T.S., but now that i think about it more, im sure they can modernize i and make it fit, or maybe they have something different, cant wait.
@iandizion713: Why would you want them to remove a cornerstone mechanic in the series? In fallout 3 you had the option to disable it from the options menu. Why don't you just do that? Why do you have to ruin it for everyone just because YOU don't want it.
On the topic of great game series that got resurrected,,, Any word on Starcontrol or Masters of Orion? Also wasn't there some news about a Systemshock game in the works?
Best episode you've done so far....LOVED IT!
Am I the only one who can't stand this guy?

@9cyph: Yea he sucks
@9cyph: Why? He's cool.
So hyped for Fallout 4!
One of the few things I preferred in FO3 to NV was the Bobbleheads. Bobbleheads are so much cooler than Snowglobes.
@The-Neon-Seal: I agree. However bobble heads were the only thing I prefer in FO3 over New Vegas. Went back and played them both a year back and the difference in storystory, quest, and characters is enormous.
I think Danny may have missed a bit of fallout lore that makes the trailer make a LOT more sense.Traditionally the vaults were presented as multi-generational arcs, the dwellers distant descendants of people who sought shelter. Fallout New Vegas introduced the idea of Stasis Chambers, where someone could ride out the apocolypse, then wake up centuries later. My impression from the trailer is that 111 is a survivor of the OLD world, presumably with some very handy technical skills given that he seems to be restoring some power armor. The pre-war scenes I imagine are at the start of the game, to give backstory, getting into the vault,,,. I'm guessing/hoping we'll have scenes where we see glimpses of the places 111 visits in flashback to what they looked like pre-war.
@adamdiran: Also no mention of androids. Remember these were referenced in FO3? Perhaps instead of cryo the protagonist is an android with copied AI from someone from the past and the playable flashbacks are former memories. Did I just ruin everything?
@adamdiran: Oh good point. Yea might very well be the case. Thanks for sharing!
@dannyodwyer: HA! I nailed it.Commencing happy dance.
@dannyodwyer: duh... the trailer resembled that idea anyways...
Only thing left will be to know whether there will be flashbacks where we play as the guy in the pre war era...
if fallout 4 comes out this year, it's gonna be one of the best years for gaming, so many great games coming,
Oh man, Danny...I think you meant 'Red Socks' not Yankees.
But would be cool if there was a post apocalyptic faction that followed the Red Socks that were also at war with another faction that followed the Yankees.
@Nickplays: I knew a lot of people would think I got that wrong. No I meant I wonder if Yankee stadium is still in one piece like Fenway. Anyway, hopefully they've changed baseball into some sort of weird Blitzball type future sport!
@dannyodwyer: dont worry i am sure mit or the institute surely developed a way to destroy any nuclear missile heading their way.... just like mr house did...
"where are great games" danny, months ago
now finally i hope you never repeat that childish thing again danny.
@lambazelda: Hah, yea first it was that hot Witcher. Now if this and The Last Guardian come out this year, man. I'll have to eat my own words. Preferably in the form of a delicious steak.
@lambazelda: also thanks for the high quality work on Point,
I want that FNV sign.........
I actually like the way Fallout 4 looks. The vivid colors, the graphics, I actually like it.
Many are saying that it shouldn't be colorful, but I do like it much better this way. Although the world seems to be in terrible condition, the environment looks spectacular. I like the mix. Life goes on, and here we kinda see the world repairing itself a bit. Not only that, but I just don't like spending many hours in a world that has the color pallet of a turd. Not EVERYTHING needs to like like shit!
As for the graphics, I just think people are getting greedy and just want more. The game looks beautiful! Not only that, but there's a rumor that it's going to be a seamless world. Meaning, that you can enter a building or city without having the trouble of a loading screen. If this is true then it only makes sense that Bethesda had to make sacrifices to make this happen.
@RAPTOR-J: its definitely not going to be a seamless world, don't even start spreading that nonsense. Those animations are the red flag of gamebryo, there's no way that engine could handle that. Let's not forgot that the creation engine was just a heavily modified gamebryo. For something like that to happen we would need brand new software.
"...there's a rumor that it's going to be a seamless world." I said that it was a rumor, just a possibility. Nothing is set in stone yet, but there is a chance. Bethesda does have goals of their own that they want to achieve.
If you were wondering, this is where I heard it from...
@RAPTOR-J: yeah i agree with you the dull colours really borede in 3 & nv.
Well dont care much for graphics as well but melee combat and unarmed combat should be better as well more interaction with the objects around lile picking up a tin can and throwing somwhere to dostract animals or raiders etc...and alao better duck and cover and sprint those have been long due...
Well considering that Bethesda hasn't let me down yet. I can't see how Fallout 4 will do so.
@dussan2: ESO :(
@dani_i89: Not by the same team.
@The-Neon-Seal: Bethesda still had a hand in it as producers.
Perhaps our protagonist was kept in a type of stasis? All the Vaults had weird experiments running, maybe this one had something to do something like that?
I love The Point, great job GS.
The graphics don't impress me. Then again I've never played fallout or ever been excited for fallout strictly because of the visuals. That being said, it doesn't hold a candle compared to metro last light, gta 5, the witcher 3, and watch dogs. The competition is simply on a level far above this.These visuals in the trailer can already be attained with a variety of visual enhancing mods in fallout 3 and fallout new vegas. I guess if I could convey anything, it would be disappointment that it doesn't at the very least step over the line that you can achieve in the previous games with mods.
Oh no, Danny has gone crazy with this anticipation for Fallout 4. I hope that he goes crazy enough to tie in Connor from AC3 and how it led to this Fallout reality instead of the AC kind.
