Well, this is all likely to get folks hyped for MW 4, given the huge boondoggle Activision and COD is going thru right now, and to get their share values up. But that being said i think a lot of this MW hype is more nostalgic than anything.

The day of the quick paced "arcade twitch shooter" is at it's end. It'll sell, but the playerbase won't stick around for that. I think the Third Person mode like MW2 could do well if they add that.

Personally, it may take BO 5 Cold War and a great campaign in 2020 like BO 1 to get folks back into COD at least in the short term, and probably a great campaign in MW 4 to get folks on that.

The video won't play for me. I refreshed and endured the Elsweyr advert for the second time but nothing.

For what it's worth, I agree with this being influential in that it brought combat in FPS games out from the history book and into a contemporary time-set. Many other games followed this trend and benefited from it. It's a shame that soon after it was decided to turn the CoD franchise into an annual cash cow with a season pass. I'll likely never play another CoD but will remember this one fondly which still stands the test of time.
