What a lame, terrible, boring game. Made by awful developers who sold out to the masses, and now they're being greedy and want every game to sell out to the masses. Can you guys make a game worth anything these days? Can you stop making the same things over and over? Grind for points to spend at a vendor, thanks for taking WoW nonsense and putting it in a shooter. Ugh.
Come up with something original, does every game have to sell out? How much freaking money do you guys need?
@moldyspud: well I am so happy they made this game... I've been loving it. so I'm a sellout? it is a GAME... they make it then you decide if you wanna buy it.. if nobody buys it then this type of game wouldn't exist... but yet here we are> HMMMM... sorry hard to type on subway on a cell phone.. but i think you get the point.
@bbq_R0ADK1LL: I am a single player gamer too. am hoping it takes me a whole to reach end of the story and with all the side quests (which this reviewer did not do) I think it will. Also, at some point you open the hardest difficulty, called "Challenge" so I'll go back and try and beat the game on that level. The higher end weapons will be helpful for that I think.
The "hard" mission difficulty makes me play the missions differently than the normal so I think challenge may do the same again.
@cappy: yes. I have been playing for about 15ish hours and still have a few missions left and tons of side missions. I am only level 20 but seems after each mission you jump a level, but because of the world they have created it makes it so much fun to do the grind.. I love playing in this amazing world. even with the odd sound crashes!!!
You grind to get a better gun so that enemies would be less spongy and you could attack higher level enemies who will be more spongy but gives better loot to get a better gun so they would become less spongy so you could attack more spongy etc etc. - This game is a definition of no life.
@unzythun: actually after level 10 is pretty challenging and pretty funny, the sp missions have more sense in co-op mode, tactics are varied ... what do you expect from a post-apocaliptic game ?? be Bruce Wilis, save the world and if you're not happy play Last of Us :-)
I would be extremely AWESOME if they did a cool single player mission (with cutscenes and cool quests) along the multiplayer and dark zones aside. BUT!!! Buuuut, that's what you get!
@Dilandau88: It is incredibly boring and lame, it's just another weak attempt at selling to the masses. There's no artisitc value whatsoever, there's no content or substance or meat or whatever you want to call it. It's just shoot lame crap to get to a certain level and shoot other players until you have everything from a vendor. That's it...
@Dilandau88: I agree. This game as a whole looks terrible for gameplay. Just looks like mechanics and everything else is a non futuristic less controllable destiny, less character focused.
I do think I'd really enjoy this game. But the grinding I just can't do it. I don't have the time or patience to wait for another gallahorn.... After destiny consumed me for nearly 12 mths I banned myself from any mmo style of game. Now I have a little one my time is even less and far more important!!!!
I think they are still figuring out the economy for end game. Most people arent level 30 yet. Erick is way ahead of the curve.
The game is a grindy fella. Thats the type of game it is....if you enjoy cover based shooting and loot. You will prolly like it. Im having a blast playing solo, taking my time, and doing everything.
I am in no rush to get to end game stuff, but it looks interesting enough.
I gotten a good chunk of my money's worth and its only day 2. I can honestly say, Id happily buy The Division if i had it to do all over again.
@Alecmrhand: I agree with you 100% on everything you said. If you're not a fan of grinding maybe this game isn't for you, but I love third person shooters and the cover system is just fantastic in this game. I'm level 15 and I played with a friend for the first time last night and the game is just a blast.
So, this is how you get end-game loot, but where's the content where you're supposed to use it ? Sure, you have that one daily mission that probably needs better loot, but that's it ?
@Arees42: I miss the days when grinding was linked to game progress.
Sure games like Final Fantasy were pretty grindy but that was because you were a bunch of guys up against impossible odds trying to save the world. It made SENSE.
Now it is just like you grind for months and when you stop you have NOTHING impressive to show for it.
@Arees42: Well said, I was thinking the same thing. it's that infinite loop, grind to get better gear to grind to get better gear. There's no real substance to it without a raid or other end game content to use the better gear in.
