@snake-ala In reality I think giving the consumer the option for the physical or digital media is good enough. I just noticed Yoshida dodged the question a little. Ideally Sony wants gamers to buy the digital media (saves Sony money), but they can't outright say that to not anger retailers. I doubt Sony would want to use digital kiosks. The point of digital media is that you remove the middle man and make more $$$ per game. If you put it in a Best Buy or Gamestop, either Sony is paying to place the kiosk or the retailer takes a cut off the purchase. Especially when there will be a physical media option. But I agree that retailers need to understand that. No one buys music or PC games in a store anymore. DVD's and console/portable gaming are next.

@theJBlounge yeah, But retailers should know that it is the age of digital download, So they shouldn't be so upset about it. Also I read somewhere that Sony is thinking of some kind of kiosk to be placed in retail stores. Where you can brows games catalog, purchase a game, then connect ur PSvita to the kiosk and download it for ur device in a couple of minutes you will have a big game like uncharted in ur vita. And thus achieving satisfaction for both consumers and retailers.

I think cell phones are going to crush the ps vita. Nintendo was smart coming up with a reason to purchase it (3d). As for the vita you can't just upgrade the psp at this time and expect it to do well. It's a long shot, but I don't see mass market appeal for the vita.

I'll be going all out for the $300 model but I don't plan to subscribe to at&t or whoever until I find a use. I have wireless tethering on my phone that I can use.

I have the 3DS and I tell you it wasn't worth the 250 dollars. Now, since the 3DS had a price drop from 250 dollars to 170 dollars and since soon the really good 3DS games will come out, it's worth a buy. However it seems like the PSVita will be those 250/300 dollars worth with better games for the launch.

Good interview from Randolph. Yoshida dodged a couple of questions (retailers thoughts of digital media and mobile gaming competition), but Sony's really done their homework on the Vita. I'm ready for it to come out stateside. Uncharted and Hot Shots are my day 1 games lol
