Compare a "fighter" game with a "racing" game?I think they both have their share of fans!
For what me and my friends are concerned, Mario Kart is waaaay ahead!I think Mario Kart actually reach a larger audiance.Anyone can pick it up and play and have fun right off the bat.
From my past experience, I never got someone "hooked/addicted" to Smash the way they got with Mario Kart!
Smash is the most fun and competitive experience with friends! Mario Kart is just too much based on luck, while in Smash, it's always ability! (you only adds luck factors if you want)

Mario Kart. Smash bros is all flash & no substance.
@chisoxrule: There are tons of substance in Smash! MK is a much more simple game.
Mario Kart. No other game can make you go from 0 to violent, homicidal rage in 10 seconds like this God forsaken masterpiece.
@cramseyla25: Hahaha, when sh*t hits the fan in Mario Kart, it can indeed be a hell of an anger management session!!
I remember a game where I was WAYYYYY ahead, closing up to the finish line of the 4th race to get the 3 stars on a 150cc championship I restarted like 12 times...
I was getting ready for celebrations when I received the dreaded blue shell, 2 seconds later a red one, 1 seconds later a lost green one came crashing into me without being able to even start rolling again, a lightning struck, the 2nd place kart came colliding and stomped each other and I finished 5th!
Dai still on him!!! Omg

Ahem the correct answer is MARIO PARTY
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe would be right next to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate if MK8D didn't come with all the characters and tracks already unlocked. Unlocking things (in this case, characters and maps in games) adds a lot of the fun to it. Plus, Smash has a lot more modes and scenarios you can do with single player. Both great games and Switch essentials, but SSBU is just more...dynamic?
Mario Kart is fun, but it is just a casual party game, with little depth. Smash Bros is the more serious of the two.
Still rocking both of them on the Wii U.
@Defender1978: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate isn't on Wii U.
Mario Kart always
