Super Smash Bros. Ultimate: 4 DLC Characters We Want To Play

New challengers will join the roster on Nintendo Switch, but who could they be?

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate brings together every single fighter from the series' history, plus a handful of new contenders. But even with that massive roster, the developers aren't slowing down. During a Nintendo Direct, director Masahiro Sakurai confirmed that five DLC characters would be coming to the game. That's on top of Piranha Plant, a free addition to those who buy the game digitally or register their copy by January 31, 2019.

We already know the first of the five DLC characters: Joker from Persona 5. With such a left-field choice, all bets are seemingly off for who the remaining DLC fighters could be. Notably, each one will also bring a new stage and music track to the game.

We racked our brains and made a wishlist of four additional characters we'd like to see join the fight. Some seem like safe bets, while others are pretty radical choices. Check out the video above, and let us know which characters you'd like to see join the roster in the comments below!

In other Smash Bros. news, the game's first weekly event kicks off Thursday, December 13. It will focus on characters who wear glasses, and their respective Spirits will appear more frequently on the Spirit Board.

To attract as many people as possible I highly expect a beloved Animé character such as "Son Goku", "Luffy", "Naruto" or "Eren Jaeger" - all of them also got their successfull videogame adaptions on Nintendo consoles and would be excellent DLC characters.

My personal favourite would be "Randi" from Secret of Mana (just imagine the music!)... but yeah, wishful thinking I guess... there are already too many sword wielding characters in the game

And one more thing: "Joker" per se is also a Sega character (they own Atlus) so I hardly see Yakuza in Smash very soon.

how about a Dark Souls character? Or Geralt of Rivia and/or Ciri? Or Mallow, Geno, or Smithy, pretty pretty please? After all, Rare has allowed FF characters in SSB, why not Mario RPG ones?

At least Skull Kid with the mask.

Cecil from FF2/4 or Terra from FF3/6. Maybe Chrono??? After Cloud and Joker, I just want more JRPG protagonists.

Star Wars characters from the Super Star Wars SNES games would be awesome! And while you're add it, throw in Indiana Jones too. -- I'd have no choice but to buy the game then ;)

Captain Toad is the most plausible pick of these mentioned here, I think, though I think Banjo and Kazooie would be a neat throwback. However, seeing how Crash Bandicoot got ported to the Switch, that raises some awesome possibilities...
