Nintendo has given us more details on Super Mario Maker 2, and it is packed with lots of new features. Mario Maker 2 includes a more fleshed out single-player story mode, which will introduce the level creation mechanics as you progress. These new tools include Super Mario 3D World build set, plus new desert, ice, and jungle course themes.
The sequel also includes several online multiplayer modes, such as versus, co-op, and local play. You'll also be able to share your levels online and try out other players' creations in the course world hub. However, you'll need a Nintendo Switch Online subscription to do so.
