Review is where ?
No joke, I let my four year old daughter play story mode. She cleared three characters using nothing but medium kick.
Please give game 10/10
I am soooo glad I decided to upgrade my pc rather than spend money on a console this gen. With that said the pc version I'm hearing is pretty broken! Halo mcc got a low score just because of its broken online and from what I heard the rest of the game is good. Not sure why sf5 is getting a pass on gamespot. If this was an xone exclusive this game would be getting railed!
They clearly rush this game out the door. It looks like they should have delayed this game another month or 2 to fix all the bugs and to have other game modes completed and be selectable in the game. Where is arcade mode? Bring arcade mode back capcom. I have never seen a street fighter game without a arcade mode. Whoever made the decision not to have an arcade mode in this game should be fire and fire again for releasing a game like this at this stages when it clearly looks that this game was not ready yet to be released yet.
And this is one reason why I like early access.. might be in there for 2-4 years but most the time when its finished it isn't half done like this crap.
This game has terrible online issues, bugs, crashes and so little content. Should be in early access!
IMO you should give the game a score right now, the game was put out in stores no? It is released, do a review.... the servers suck, bugs, lack of content, etc... should take points away, just give it the score as it stands now.
So in otherwords Capcom is trying to hand out a broken unfinished game....true to form for Ea,Ubisoft,Activision....now Capcom has joined the club...the BROKEN GAMES CLUB!
As always these games are best when you are playing against someone who is sitting next to you... still, if you like to play online - if the servers are an issue it may take months to get resolved. For me it's still a must own because it's one of the only games my wife will play with me.
@stickybun: My wife will only play SF as well. She kicks my ass in it too.
I'm kind of amazed with how this game almost gets a free pass only because it's Street Fighter... Killer Instinct had more singleplayer stuff (not much) when it came out, and had the exact same "comes out later" thing... But KI got bashed hard for having so little content... and KI was 20$
Street Fighter is in a worse condition (with more characters than launch KI sure) and costs 60$...
I know KI didn't get a bad review, and SFV haven't gotten an official score yet, but I sounds like it will still get a decent score... and many other review sites have been giving it good scores...
@LordCrisp: oh brother, is there anything worse in this world than xbox fanboys? .... No there is not.
@masterkushh: Exactly! KI > SF ?? hahaha
@masterkushh: love how people's only defence against anything there days, is to call others fanboys. I could go as low as to call you one on the PS side, but you're obviously proud of being narrowminded and only have one platform
Do I like Xbox? sure.
Do I like other platforms? jup...
Is PC my actual favorite? no doubt.
Do I just happen to usually own every last console? that's me...
Is Killer Instinct more my game than Street Fighter? sure
But I'm still gonna play Street Fighter... I still wanna see it work
I'm complaining about the free pass Street Fighter is getting... a 60$ game in worse (or same) condition than a 20$ game getting equal or better score is just NOT RIGHT
Now... you can keep trolling, but I'm only gonna give you this one answer, so you might as well stop now.
@LordCrisp: You're spot on. Anything sony this gen gets a free pass. They get away with having so few exclusives and when their games suck no one cares. If this was xbox people would be shizzing all over it.
@Bread_or_Decide: every company gets grief it depends where you go on the net
@LordCrisp: maybe because the fighting mechanics are better and all dlc will be free earned by playing the game similar to the good old days, no seasonal buying unlike KI, but yeah the features are bare in sf v but are coming soon a proper story mode is due in march i think.
@willjohnboy: The fighting mechanincs aren't better in SFV... they're different... don't come here and push you own opinion down other people's throats!
And yeah, "free" DLC sounds great, but do we actually know how much we need to play to earn a character?
It might VERY well be made so that only people who play everyday has a fair shot at earning them.
And yet again... 20$ for a KI season is still cheap.. you get nine characters for that money... which means that already from season 2 we're at 18 characters for 40$ and that's against your 60$ 16 characters... yeah yeah, there'll be "free" DLC characters, but let's talk about them, when we've figured out how free they actually are... Capcom has to earn money of something, and if everyone could just earn them easily, their business wouldn't run
Edit: Oh, and don't get me wrong... I want SFV to become great. I'm just amazed with the free slack it's getting for being just that, Street Fighter 5
@LordCrisp: That guy was just trolling. Honestly, I think SFV is getting a little bit of a pass because 1) it plays well (think how destiny was initially received), and 2) it's a Sony exclusive.
All in all there are (I'm sure) plenty of Xbox fans who are salty that SFV isn't coming to the X1, but at the same time there is a majority of people who will defend / not badmouth SFV because it is "their" exclusive. The Console War is still pretty pervasive, and as shallow as it is, it does still dictate people's arguments / feelings.
@OniLordAsmodeus: no i wasn't trolling, i got both (KI with the games with gold because it had all season 1 characters available, i'm an orchid and sabrewolf player), plus you agree that it plays well and dlc is free where as you have to pay for the seasons in KI facts are not trolling if LordCrisp can't take it that's his problem, both games at launch were terrible i got sfv free thanks to amazon tokens. people should forget about console wars, gaming is what's important.
@willjohnboy: The reason I said you were trolling is because you said the "fighting mechanics were better" in SFV. That isn't a statement of fact, but opinion. You seem like a smart guy, so why would you assert something like that into the conversation, especially when the conversation was talking about SFV supposedly "getting a pass" due to it's poor launch.
Seeing as you have both games, if you like SFV's mechanics more than KI's, that is perfectly fine, but your subjective preference in gameplay styles, shouldn't be the basis of a supposed objective argument when talking about the product as a whole.
About KI's business model, I would agree with you that buying the seasons is objectively worse than SFV's "play and earn" model. When SFV announced this model, I said that their's was objectively better than KI's. That being said, being able to pay for what you want in KI, even if you just pay $5 for one character has it's benefits too.
In SFV you pay $60 to get in no matter what, and the benefit is you can play / grind and earn the DLC. In KI you can play for free, but the catch is to get access to the content you want on demand, you have to pay for it. These are 2 different models, for 2 different kinds of consumer.
Bottom line is though, SFV is sort of getting a pass, just like KI was, but for different reasons. KI got a somewhat pass when it launched because it played well OFF and ONline, and though content was spars, it was a launch game. SFV is getting a pass because it plays well OFFline, and though overall content is spars and the online is spotty at the moment, the promise is seemingly there.
@OniLordAsmodeus: well said, sorry for not making it clear what i meant.
Ill buy it once the game is complete as a product.
Exactly what Peter have said: great combat and fighting, but nowhere to use that.
It's gonna be a 7.
And Xbox zealots will rejoice, completely ignoring the fact that gameplay and mechanics wise, it's the best Street Fighter yet. It's the missing content (which will be added for free later) which drags the score down.
It's almost as bad as the Playstation zealots wanting Rise of the Tomb Raider to be a failure, even though the game is actually coming to their system.
Fanboys are silly.
@domiddian: Do you like incomplete games?
@domiddian: Why is SF5 "the best street fighter yet"? And I agree that fanboys are silly.
@OniLordAsmodeus: The review echo chamber consensus seems to be that mechanically it's the best SF to date. That's really a matter of opinion for the individual player though.
@domiddian: I kind of agree with you... Fanboys are worth nothing...
But you gotta admit that singleplayer content is important... not for competetive players, but theres also more casual players than competetive ones. Not even having an arcade mode is laughable, and the "story" mode is even worse in every way...
I love how the mechanics and stuff looks for SFV, but I've also heard a lot of general concern from competetive players that it's gonna end up being ONLY about neutral game, because the combos aren't really hard anymore, so you are not gonna have any moments where you sitting screaming in your chair because some player just did a sick crazy combo that is impossible to pull of...
It's better for me this way, because I'm not good at fighting games, but it also takes away from the competetive side and makes it less interesting to watch... If anything is boring to watch, it's neutral game :(
@LordCrisp: Of course single player is important, but it will be coming later. Not the most ideal situation I know, but it's not like it is permanent.
I agree with you on the other stuff though for the time being. The game is definitely much easier to play so not as "hardcore", but I don't think it has been played enough for anyone to fully make a call on its depth just yet. I still think you'll get hardcore players beating the crap out of casual button mashers.
There are a lot of fighting games out there that are very easy to play from a casual point of view, but still have enough depth to appeal to seasoned players. We'll see...
@domiddian: Yeah yeah... just think a decent amount of singleplayer content is important from the beginning... If "singleplayer-casuals" pick it up now, they are NEVER gonna give it a second look...
if those people have something to come back to, they'll be happier about new content coming down the line, whereas like this, they won't care, because they already feel ripped off.
And yeah, I agree with the mechanics part... hope it won't get as bad as it could seem right now... Street Fighter might not be my franchise, but I wanna see all the FGC thrive and get bigger
@LordCrisp: Makes you wonder. What on earth has Capcom been working on all this time?
CDkeys.com is selling street fighter 5 PC for $37.06 http://www.cdkeys.com/pc/games/street-fighter-5-pc-cd-key-steam
If you buy it directly from Steam they are charging you the full price $59.99
Thanks for clearing things up!
I'll wait on this one...
What happened to the Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm review?
@louixiii: they dont care about us :( i already bought it tho its good
@brazprince: NUNS or SFV
@louixiii: Naruto all the way loll
Mechanics wise street fighter is more fair i would say butstreet fighter to me is outdated in terms of innovation and this one barely brings any new content. Naruto is pure fun and theres like 80+characters. My issue with naruto is how they make it to simple for people like me who want a little more depth. ill give you a quick example.
In Naruto the right analog stick is used to switch between your support characters. I think its a complete waste and the analog couldve been used to add more jutsu. You can still only do one jutsu and your three other jutsus are tired into combos. Naruto just leaves me feeling like they could of done more but it has way more content that sf5
@brazprince: My thoughts exactly. Naruto isn't that competitive. SF is more like the chess of fighters. As for the content...it's true, but as long as I can play online against other people, move up in the ranks and save a boatload of fight money, I'm satisfied
