At New York Comic-Con 2018 a new trailer for Star Trek: Discovery was shown and it provided plenty to unpack. Starting with a rousing speech delivered by Captain Christopher Pike--who is played by Anson Mount--the trailer begins by reinforcing the bonds between the crew. "Starfleet is a promise," he says. "I give my life for you, you give your life for me. Nobody gets left behind."
From there, we're given a look at a bunch of exciting set-pieces, but perhaps the most intriguing part of the trailer is the mention of "The Red Angel," who main character Michael Burnham has seen in a vision. Excitingly, these visions have also been witnessed by none other than Spock, who also makes an appearance in the trailer.
After the trailer made its debut Greg and Chastity got together to break down everything in it and also discuss some of the things they have learned. Check out the video above to see it all.
Star Trek: Discovery Season 2 will premiere in January 2019 and will be available to watch on CBS All Access for those in the US, CraveTV in Canada, and Netflix in other territories. During San Diego Comic-Con earlier this year it was confirmed that Alex Kurtzman has signed a new five-year deal with CBS Television Studios to release several new Star Trek projects. One of these new projects will have Patrick Stewart reprising his role as Jean-Luc Picard.
