Spyro Vs. Crash Bandicoot | Versus

Spyro: Reignited Trilogy and Crash Bandicoot: N. Sane Trilogy bring the two beloved franchises to a whole new generation of gamers (and consoles), but which series is better? Fighting for Spyro is Oscar Dayus and repping Crash is Will Potter. Watch and decide who you think argued their case better in our poll! New episodes of Versus every Wednesday!

Spyro the Dragon and Crash Bandicoot's respective histories are remarkably similar. They both started out as PlayStation exclusives and were immediate hits with audiences in the '90s. They both later changed developers and went multiplatform, and both suffered rapid declines in popularity and quality in the '00s. Now, both are back in the form of Crash Bandicoot: N. Sane Trilogy and the upcoming Spyro: Reignited Trilogy. The question is: which franchise is better?

We decided to sit down and have a lighthearted but passionate debate about which series we prefer. Fighting for Crash Bandicoot is the UK office's own clumsy mammal, Will Potter. On the side of everyone's favorite purple dragon, meanwhile, is Oscar Dayus. Bear in mind we decided to focus our debate on the original trilogies of each game--otherwise we'd both have ended up crying.

Watch the video above to see how the debate turned out. The discussion begins with randomly selected topics, and the pair argue in support of their respective picks. Alongside the serious analysis of each side, there's also some friendly fun-making and jokes at each other's expense. Be sure to watch till the end to see the quick-fire round, which gets a little goofy.

Last week we put the Tomb Raider series up against the Uncharted franchise to decide which of the two is the best of the Indiana clones, and Oscar Dayus channeled young Nate well enough to defeat Tamoor Hussain's valiant defence of Lara. Make sure to make your voice heard this week by voting for who you think won the debate on YouTube or by commenting down below. Check back next week for another episode of Versus; new episodes drop every Wednesday at 6 AM PT / 9 AM ET / 2 PM BST / 11 PM AET on GameSpot.com and YouTube.
