@Skakruk but it's no wonder he left konami and teamed up with Suda51. Look at how they botched his sound track in Homecoming. I think he just saw a sinking ship and jumped overboard. Now we've got Shadows of the Damned, which was great, and I'm sure as ridiculous as it looks - Lollipop Chainsaw will at least have great music :)

@daub11 don't make me cry. The first one came out for the ps1. I don't think there's been a good silent hill since The Room, which was the worst game of the first four. From what I've heard of this guy's soundtrack - he fits the series well...I just have no faith in the people making the actual game, and they've messed with a working formula enough to create something bland and uninspired. Silent Hill used to stand out, because it was different, bold, smart and severely depressing. It was that pure asian horror experience, where it's just not enough to be scared of monsters...it's about being haunted by everything around you and inside of you. All of that seems pretty much gone.

Seems like a decent guy. It's good that he picked up on the dual nature of music in previous SH games ... themes shouldn't be all monotone and boring, especially since music played a HUGE part in creating the series and kept players guessing what they should be feeling at any given point.

i have always been a huge fan of all the S.H.games. ever since the first one came out for the ps2 and now they are making all of these new ones that are supposed to be even better. but the one that was really strange was S.H.home coming cause of the monsters you have to fight and then you would have to try and figure out how to save the characters who you play from harmful beings and really strange creatures.it's crazy cause in all the S.H. games you would always have to solve the puzzles that you come across just get them right and to see where they lead to. sometimes they would lead you to wierd places or just right back to the start.

man,W T F !!!!! yamaoka's sound and music were, undeniably, the inseparable fromthe game. and actually the big, like 50% of the game, gameplay experience, feel and atmosphere was yamaoka's music. it is so true *** horror feel that it' sjust unreal to imagine someone else doin' music for game that it's music was so definig and inspiring in many areas of sh games, and future games that were released after first sh,and particulary, second. SH games are identifed with Yamaoka and vise versa///
