Yes I'm necroing but I find it kind of annoying that when they did this video, they utterly ignored BioShock 2 or referring to it just because Irrational didn't make it. Infinite actually took heavy elements from and inspiration from BS2. The entire asylum area, those assets heavily mirror and almost look directly from the infirmary of BioShock 2. Not to mention that a lot of these areas in Rapture in Burial at Sea harken back to the section of BioShock 2 where you controlled a little sister.

if it's longer than 4 hours then i'd be surprised, however i'm excited to experience Rapture in it's best days for the first time. Bioshock 1 was great but there were so many times where I was wondering what certain places were like before the fall of Rapture..now we get to see!
I wish 'Irrational' would do SWAT 5...
That's so awesome he mentioned Devil and the White City, I have that book. Great read.
I want it. Like, um, right now. Please?
So.......When can I play it ?
@JimmyThreeBalls 12 Nov. on all platforms!
Dear Gamespot Management,
People don't care about more fancy websites, they care about people who do good things. If you have half a heart, put the Extra-Life stream on the top.

Looks great. Irrational, please ignore the hair-splitting, self-entitled haters clogging the comments. The 'Shock universe is great and thank you for providing something fresh and imaginative to offset the latest Call of Battlefield clone churned out month after month.
This is looking like a 4 out of 10.
@WTA2k5 if tom is reviewing it, sure.
Not to scrutinize them unjustly, BUT, everything they say makes it sounds like any amount of work they put in is actually above and beyond the expected standard....talking about revisiting rapture and having to create new assets and etc.....no shit, that's why you expect some money in return, because you're giving us something new or fresh. "challenge this" "challenge that", maybe it's their vocabulary, but I remember even with BioINF they had to announce that they were going to include common pc features in the game like FOV and shite.....I really want to see them go above and beyond their standards, but it always feels like they build on our excitement more than on the delivery of the game.
@tframp420 Like I said, I don't mean to scrutinize them, but I find it somewhat funny how they represent their work....it's not bad in the least considering the regard the series receives.
Not sure if I said this already but BRING BACK FREEDOM FORCE! Please Irrational, quit being so irrational
My game of '07 merging with my game of '13. Sigh. I almost want to cry.
Rapture pre-chaos seems to be as "dead" as Columbia, with NCPs standing around looking at things in the distance, arms transfixed in awkward positions, or caught in a loop, saying and doing things one thousand times over and over again.
This is not something that is "alive".
The original "Bioshock" felt alive with the mad people around, this new take is just like walking into a museum and looking at things.
Also, I am not really comfortable with the sexual tension between Booker and Elizabeth, what is the story behind it?
@monowasp Who cares if they are standing around? It's a video game. So long as their dialogue furthers the story, and immerses you further inside it, that's what makes the difference. Stop projecting your cynicism onto the franchise. You're getting too hung up and minor details that don't really matter.
I'm a huge bioshock fan and they are right in a way, they need to stop saying a city is "alive" when the characters are merely clones with minimal actions but i guess they can only do what the platforms will let them
@monowasp you've got points. I'm with you every step of the way.
It was easy to take BioINF as a showcase ....but it took some steps backwards in terms of game-world mechanics....all the persistent elements have been panned for more "funneling" of the player....despite looking so pretty and having open environments, it actually "felt" more shallow.
Can we play it yet.
Tell me we can play it.
Looking forward to this. It's nice to see attention to detail and careful consideration still made in developing a game.
Though I don't know what meaning the name "Burial at Sea" has for the DLC, at the present time, it holds a different meaning for me: death, as in, killing the entire feel of the series for me.
I couldn't play "BioShock" the same way now, because I feel they've messed with something that shouldn't have been messed with.
But, it's theirs to mess with...
This looks like a really inspired, creative, and fun thought project for the developers at Irrational Games. They seem to have put a lot of passion and creativity into Burial at Sea and found new inspiration by revisiting their original success; hopefully this will be reflected in the finished product.
@majin @MlLkMan Thanks
uh oh Bioshock has reached the level of popularity required for the masses to hate on it :O
let's play a game. every time you hear the phrase "you know", smack your girlfriend. don't fear the repercussions, you know. smack away. you know, smack her silly.
You know....you know.....you know.....I mean......You know?
@volcomnukka i know. i know how you feel.
Awesome stuff. Looking forward to the DLC. But why are all the people working on the game look like they're 17 years old? Lol.
Looks boring like the another games of the series. I don't know what people want to play this with Battlefield 4 in the market right now.
With your reference to BF4 as "different" and your grammatical error I think we can all agree your opinion is invalid. Would you kindly remove yourself.
@Diegoctba Yes, because BF4 is so original and imaginative. Why would anyone even bother with a game set in the same old environment, with the same old story told thousands times before, right?
@nocny007 @Diegoctba Don't feed him.
Exactly! Here is my like, sir.
@Diegoctba @nocny007 hear hear !!
@Diegoctba @nocny007 you fail at detecting sarcasm
Is anyone else having trouble with chrome not playing the video, just the audio?
This seems to be happening ever since Windows 8.1 install.
@mboettcher If you go Chrome, go HOME!
@mboettcher @SythisTaru chrome played it fine for me.....sorry.
@SythisTaru @mboettcher That's very helpful. Thank you.
Do we need to have BIoshock Infinite installed?
nice end with the item shop audio
I'm intrigued by this DLC. I just really hope the story telling is more a part of the gameplay than Infinite. If there is some real investigation as part of the gameplay that would be good, but if it's simply killing stuff then I'm sure I'll lose interest quickly. There's no point in going into a city that feels "alive" if your only aim is to make everything dead.
