PUBG's New Update Shakes Up The Desert Map And Blue Zone - GameSpot Daily

Playerunknown's Battlegrounds' desert map Miramar has some new areas, Destiny 2's next DLC release date revealed, and more in today's GameSpot Daily.

It's true. Thursday isn't exactly Friday. But even though we've still got a whole other day until the weekend, we've got a bunch of awesome news in this episode of GameSpot Daily. We have PUBG, Destiny 2, The Witcher 3, and more in 30 minutes or less.

PUBG's latest update tweaks the desert map Miramar by adding some new locations in the northern areas of the map. The desert map has had more than its fair share of criticism--including from us--so with this and the addition of more roads and car spawns, hopefully we'll get a more exciting, less frustrating experience. Oh, and they've increased the damage of some the blue zone phases and delayed the time between blue zone closures, so if you weren't already terrified of it... welcome, friend.

Destiny 2's next expansion has its release date. Unfortunately, however, we don't actually have much information about the new Warmind DLC. All we know is that there will be new loot, activities, and enemies. Thankfully, Bungie plans to reveal more soon.

If you're like me and get "King of Kong" Billy Mitchell mixed up with pro hockey player Willie Mitchell or the late Billy Mays, then this story is for you. After much controversy over Mitchell's Donkey Kong performance (the "King of Kong," not the hockey player), his scores have been revoked. If you have no idea who I'm talking about at all, then perhaps you remember the movie called King of Kong, which chronicles the rivalry between Mitchell and Steve Wiebe, the latter of whom is now the only recognized million-point scorer in Donkey Kong.

Speaking of Donkey Kong, the King of Swing's Tropical Freeze is set for its Switch release this May, and it was recently learned that a couple of the characters' idle animations feature the iconic apes playing a Nintendo Switch of their own. We talk that and more Tropical Freeze information in today's episode.

Toy manufacturer Good Smile recently revealed a new Nendoroid based on Geralt of Rivia, the dang witcher. The figure is fully articulated with interchangeable faces and even features little Gwent cards and his iconic swords: steel and silver, so he's ready for any job. It even includes a bathtub, so you can recreate that iconic scene from The Witcher 3.

Geralt's pretty popular these days, so much so that he's one of the marquee characters in SoulCalibur VI. And speaking of, the human form of Nightmare will also appear as a playable fighter in the new game. Siegfried is back and looking for redemption. As the press release says, "His true nightmare has only just begun."

That's what you'll find in today's episode, but be sure to tune in every day of the week at 11 AM PST/2 PM EST/7PM BST/4 AM AEST for another episode of GameSpot Daily. We cover the most exciting gaming news in 30 minutes or less or it's the blue zone for all of us.
