Quite amusing really, had the game released as the game it is now, I would never have bought it. It's now a game full of the things I despise most in games, base-building, extensive resource management and worst of all, multiplayer. I loved the simplicity of the original, the isolation and solitude was the major attraction for me. I guess reclusive gaming appeals more to people who live a reclusive life.As much as I hated the bugs, I played it nightly on a BIG (95") screen and it was perfect escapism... it kinda made you feel what the solitary space explorer would feel like if they were alone on a lifeless planet. The more they added, the less I played... funny how one man's disappointment can be another's enjoyment and how quickly those swings can go the opposite way.It is however, nice to see a developer standing by the single-player community as equals to the multiplayer community, unlike companies like Rockstar. For that alone, I will always remain content that I paid full physical-disc price on launch day... I got a lot of enjoyable gameplay for that money.
@leec2202: u can still play it completely solo: https://www.pwrdown.com/gaming/no-mans-sky-how-to-play-private-games-solo/
One Man's Sky , became "One Man's Lie", became "No Man's Buy", became "Dev Team Try", became "Give Another Try", became "All Men Buy".
Never played this game, I was able to notice the fake overhype right from the get go... Still, I will not deny, it's nice to see the game alive. Basically 2 years already, constant fixes, more content, etc.. This is something commendable. I hope the majority could have a similar positive reaction, even if the game was a disaster. Positivity is a good thing.. it sounds cheesy, lol but it's just that.
