Netflix: The Best New Movies / TV Shows To Watch In May 2018

May is upon us, and a new month means there is a slew of new movies and shows to watch on Netflix. From classic films to original TV shows, the streaming service has plenty to binge. So get ready to be glued to your couch while you make your way through a lot of streaming video.

For instance, one of 2017's best movies, Pixar's animated hit Coco, will arrive on May 29, giving you the perfect opportunity to bawl your eyes out from the comfort of your own living room. If you're looking to pair it with another film for an animated double feature, May also sees the arrival of Shrek. It may be hard to believe, but it was 17 years ago when the titular ogre first arrived in theaters. Other new movie titles include Hellboy II: The Golden Army, The Bourne Ultimatum, and The 40-Year-Old Virgin.

As far as originals go, May will see the release of the first season of The Rain--a Danish post-apocalyptic sci-fi thriller set in a world devastated by a deadly virus. The second season Additionally, the second season of 13 Reasons Why will premiere. The controversial drama about the suicide of a high school girl picks up in the aftermath of Season 1, with cassette tapes being used as a plot device replaced by polaroid photos.
