Monster Hunter World: Iceborne - Things We Wish We Knew Before Starting

Monster Hunter World’s first big expansion, Iceborne, brings a ton of new content, and we’ve compiled the best advice we’d have found helpful when first starting up the game.

Monster Hunter World's Iceborne expansion grows the game in new and welcome ways, introducing more monsters and variants of those you've already dealt with in the base game. But there are other new elements to consider; the Clutch Claw is a game-changing item, while weapons all have new moves to master. Beyond that, monsters now operate a bit differently; for instance, you'll need to give them some space when they try to go to sleep. As you'd expect from the Monster Hunter series, there's a huge amount of depth to Iceborne's offerings, and in the video above, we dive into some tips we wish we knew before starting.

Iceborne releases for PS4 and Xbox on September 6, with a PC launch following early next year. For an idea of what to expect, check out our Monster Hunter World: Iceborne review.
