Lost Between Levels Special Edition: Valve

Valve needs to get off their lazy asses and make a HL 2 EP 3, HL 3, or admit they have run out of ideas, they have been side stepping HL with side projects like Left4Dead, and Portal yet no word about their flagship game. HL 2 EP 2 came out in 2007 and they ended it with a cliff hanger that was to be picked up with HL 2 EP 3 yet that game never got made nor have they done ANYTHING with the HL series since then. HL 2 only took 3 years to come out after HL:Blue Shift and it was talked about in that time as a "it is coming out, we are working on this HL 2 game", unlike then there has been no word on a HL 2 EP 3 nor a HL 3 at all being made.

"Valve Time" is also something gamers should never have accepted as being "ok" no matter how good the companty is or was.

I like Left4Dead and Left4Dead 2 but they should have been made AFTER the HL story was over via the 3rd episode or a HL 3.

Valve are scared of the number 3.

WHAT. THE ****? No mention of Half-Life 3? Shaun didn't even take the opportunity to ask Valve, on camera, about HL3? Why? What a wasted opportunity. Otherwise great video. As you can probably tell, I love their games. Please don't make us wait for HL3 for much longer, Valve.

Bravo, Shaun, and Gamespot. Excellent story, excellent topic, excellent interviews. This is the kinda content I love. In-depth, behind-the-scenes reporting with the people that make the games we play. Bravo.

Maybe some other designers/publishers/developers could learn a few things from valve. Time and time again they give the people what they want even if the people don't always know what that is.

They have the right idea and if i was 25 years younger i would strive to earn employment there. By far the best games company out there.

I wish they could improve TF2 loading issues.

I'm thinking they were waiting for the next gen systems to come out before working on HL3. I don't think they thought it would take 8-9 years for that to happen. Hopefully we'll see it within a year or so.......hopefully.

This video only fortifies my belief that Half-Life and Portal is in a very capable hands. Oh by the way Valve, give us some news about Half-life 3 please.

It's strange, Half-Life was one of the best single-player, story-driven experiences in videogame history. But since then Valve is focusing solely on multiplayer games like CS, TF, L4D and Dota2 that are just about the game mechanics.There's no singleplayer and no story in those games. (And yes, both Portals are fun little SP gems, but puzzle games are not exactly the matter of my heart).

And since I'm very much story-driven, singleplayer gamer, I would love Valve to return back to its glorious SP roots and make Half-Life 3 already :)

Valve seems out of touch.I'm a fan of the Half Life series but lets be honest.Valve hasn't kept up with technology and seems to be in a stupor while other developers put out games.Steam is a real bug fest and is just a pain to use.Half Life 3 should have been in this generation.Team Fortress 3 should have been out and it should have had realistic graphics not the cel shaded cartoon graphics of Team Fortress 2.The truth is that Valve is too slow and waste their time on games like the Left For Dead series.Millions of gamers have missed out on some great single player and perhaps coop with Half Life 3 and we could have switched off of the great Battlefield 3 from time to time for some Team Fortress 3.This didn't happen because of Gabe Newell being another George Broussard.

Loved this video, made me want to go back and play HL and HL2 again!

Valve is the most respected Video Games and Digital Distributor among all, they know how produce quality products and keep supporting them which is the key of success, unlike Ubisoft crap, dumping games after 2-3 months of release while working on next titles to milk gamers.

21may,,is the perfect timing to bring out hl3,,,they shoul do something crazy like they working on a brand new game based on tf2 but instead,,trailers,,images,,and then a sudden confirm that hl3 is actually coming out,,with a hidden chocolate then later announce the new counter-strike with it,,posting gabe nevell playics new cs called cs modern warfare millitia source 1.0

They should do EA next.....so we can have a glimpse of what it's like to be in the belly of the beast.....It will probably be like Blair witch with shaky cam and Shaun running around screaming like a little girl.
