WTF this guy is talking about? halo's warzone IS THE WORST multiplayer experience in a decade!! gameplay is old and boring, the maps are so tiny, only revolving aroung bases, 90% of the map is just a waste which nobody uses. Bases are sort of mouse traps, where u just stay to spawncamping enemies. Spawning sistem is a mess, sometimes you chose a base, and the fkg game spawn you around a team mate wandering in the middle of nowhere. not even a squad system implemented

REQ system sucks, u are stuck whit the same default weapons again and again 90% of time...vehicles are even worst, u have to make your toll of spawncamping before using one. at least give some free quads at the base to move around the map!

ppl should look at the glorius past of battlefield and unreal tournament to know what a large scale vehicles battle is all about!

warzone is older than past games, lol!

The only thing missing from Warzone is the ability for private matches/PvE (the AI is already there after all). Otherwise staying dependent on random players online 24/7 is really a killjoy. Especially when H5 or even this game mode is no longer the flavour of the month.

If you stand back and look at it, there is no P2W. Everything there can be earned normally, and there's nothing advantageous in REQ packs that can be purchased through microtransactions, over normal ways of progression. Let's be honest. If you buy into it, you don't get the same feeling of reward, and in-game you can't tell who has purchased what. Also, it's going to be more than likely noobs that spend the cash because they can't earn the items or whatever themselves. It will be amusing imo.

Never liked Halo. I remember playing the first Halo, and the first level was a copy paste of corridors. With that said, this mode looks kinda fun, so I can see the appeal for the fans. The gameplay however looks like a mix of Planetside and Destiny, which for some people, its quite good. I however, prefer Unreal Tournament.

Halo has just never clicked with me. Something about it just seems kinda ... I dunno... generic. Doubt I'll pick this one up. Some of the ideas in this mode do sound pretty cool though.

That's actually good. It's a big enough problem already that people don't go for the objective in say, CTF, and just play everything as if it's deathmatch. Wish I had an XBONE now!

@Gelugon_baat: It wasn't perfect, but I had a lot of fun playing that game. I dunno why someone hasn't made a new one or one like it. I suppose Planetside 2 might qualify, but I haven't tried that one yet.

The game mode looks fun, but the interface looks ugly. I'm not a fan of the names and health bars of the enemies being displayed on screen. Let their armour indicate if they are an elite or a legendary or whatever.

There's no "not quite" about H5's pay to win model. You just said that casuals with cash to burn have an advantage over the have-nots. You can buy more powerful gear and vehicles. Anything you can purchase that gives you a tangible advantage in-game is pay to win. Micro-transactions should be either purely cosmetic or non-existent. There's nothing wrong with new methods of monetizing gameplay but when you give more spend-privy players a natural advantage and you nickel-and-dime consumers the whole situation is just scummy.

That aside at the very least all gear is still accessible via non-pay methods. I don't mind grinding for gear. That's how games should be honestly. What ticks me off is when they straight up make the gear pay-only, which H5 isn't doing fortunately.

Overall the monetization system isn't ideal, but it's tolerable.

Side-note, what the heck was that grenade-launcher shotgun thing? Are we playing Doom?

@randomperson7: I think the people who pay for the more powerful requisition options will only gain a slight edge, and only for the first few weeks after release. After that non-paying players will have earned the currency to purchase these special REQ packs and the advantage will be lost.

That said, it was also stated before that the currency is also gained in the other game modes, which do not allow the special REQ packs. Meaning if you'd like to skip out on fighting uber-n00bs that bought rocket launcher REQ packs with their mommy's credit card while you grind up some in-game currency you have an option.

I still don't think it's ideal, but if I absolutely had to choose between having to pay for map-packs and having to face a handful of pay2(maybe)win players for a week or two after launch, I would choose the latter.

@kozzy1234: I remember a day when all maps were free. In fact, you were encouraged to use SDK's to upload your own maps to share with others. Half-life and Unreal thrived off these. It was amazing.

What you guys need to understand is that AAA games is run by greedy corporations there are a few exceptions but for most games what you have is a bunch of greedy guys in suits discussing new ideas on how to suck more money out of the players.

For the people here complaining let's compare

Halo 5 Guardians has microtransactions but all DLCs are free

Call Of Duty Black Ops 3 has microtransactions and charges $14 and up for DLC

Star Wars Battlefront has microtransactions and charges for DLC prices are pending

@chestrc0pperp0t: Its a good job Halo 5 doesn't have pay to win modes then, unless you class shortcuts as pay to win in which case the last couple of battlefield games have been pay to win as well

@pspearman: yes i do consider "shortcuts" as pay to win ........ to me pay to win is any advantage you can buy with real money ........ and just because there are other games that have the same thing doesnt make it right lol but i understand fanboys trying to defend the games they love

Halo built the best players of a game genre on Xbox. You can't find an overall better performance on other plataforms. Just take a look at sites like destinytracker.com and compare.

The best console FPS experience is back. With the best players, next months will be really fun.

Welcome, Halo 5.

I never understood the appeal. It's the first time I own an Xbox so I can buy it. Or should I just start up Destiny again. Since they fixed a lot of issues.

@wkadalie:Did you get Halo Legends? There's something to be said for following the story through from the start. Unfortunately there's so much relevant story and lore outside the games - in the novels etc - that it's hard to break in at this late stage. I've not really picked up on everything myself, but I played Halo on launch and have absorbed some of the externally-available lore through discussions over the last, what, 12 years? Damn, it's been running a long time!

Destiny TTK is a big improvement on Destiny Year 1. It's still the same basic game though - most of the enjoyment payoff to players is through loot gathering, which is still RNG so basically a giant fruit-machine simulator. If you're not inclined towards gambling addiction, though, the new mission series is pretty fun, the dialog is much improved and they're using Nathan Fillion to good effect. If you play with friends, and there's more game-time in TTK than there was in the original release.

@davidsworld3: No, they are adding an entirely new mode which may or may not have a progression system that could require grinding. Outside of this new mode, Campaign and standard arena multiplayer are both present and fully featured and are not affected by the "grinding" of the warzones mode

Of course they are going to say this to hype but I have never been less excited about Halo in my life. Microtransactions and stripped out functions along with some of the most boring looking gameplay made by a dev who completely botched the last Halo game they made. Yeah uh no..................

@edwardnygma: I agree that 343 failed on Halo 4. But Halo 5 is looking to exceed where Halo 4 couldn't. If your one of those split screen players I can understand that. At the same time Halo Reach, and even Halo 3 had certain game types that could be played with a guest. Obviously, this was only people that played for fun. The rest of the population base would largely ignore this and just play Team Slayer, or BTB which didn't allow guest's to play.

@edwardnygma Halo 4 was not "botched" at all. All the complaints about Halo 4 (only from bungie fans cause critics loved halo 4) are just minor subtle things, apart from load outs. I loved Halo 1-3, but honestly halo 4 is leagues better than halo reach and has some of the best multiplayer in the series. Game genres evolve over time and it was definitely time for the halo formula to start spicing things up, and I think reach proved that with how boring it was. 343 is just evolving the classic halo formula while also keeping it's core at root. In fact they're removing a lot of the things people didn't like about halo 4 in halo 5.

@edwardnygma: Yeah I like how they said how they saw how they failed to deliver so they make the next game even less appealing for halo fans...

Not gonna play the mp might put a match or two in but I just want to play the story at least halo 4 story wasn't terrible but not as fun as the first game.
