game looks really good
Hope it's good
Looks amazing. But I won't play it if I can't play as a male. Sorry but I don't have a 'curious' side or a feminine side. I do not wonder "what it feels like as a girl."
I'm a guy. I like to blow sh*t up with my strong bare hands. If you don't get that and you're thinking of crying about my post, GFY sissy. ;o)
@GT_APEprefer the back side of a male do we: (not judging, to each his own)
@ptown58: I play first person games... Nice try. I never even thought of such a thing. Clearly you thought of it.

@GT_APE: People that avoid movies/games because the protagonist is female are actually doing it because they're subconciously insecure about their sexuality. A guy/girl that are aware of their gender and confortable with it, would have no issue in experiencing a story through the eyes of the opposite sex... I assume you were joking, but if not, try to figure out on which side of the fence you're on and you'll have no problem playing this. :D
@livedreamplay: I think responders here did a far better job of illuminating your attempt to cover your own gender uncertainty. Nice try. But I'm a man. I was born this way (like you were born to be feminine).
I lift weights (mostly because I like to be strong but also because women love muscle), I ride a Ducati Diavel (you'll need to google that), drive a manual (2017 STI - you'll need to google that), I drink protein and beer (sometimes together), eat protein, talk about women with other male coworkers (such as the hottest girls at work, girls with the best asses, etc.). Right now I'm on a business trip and I ordered room service. I got a burger with bacon, eggs, mayo on it, french fries, soda, and a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and nachos for later. I also just scratched my nuts.
You may go cry now.
@GT_APE: That's all fine, most men do the same things as you do. However having issues with associating yourself to a fictional female character underlines some subconscious insecurities with sexuality. If you want to believe me you can go to a psychologist now and find out more in a controlled space, or you can keep denying it (like the other people that commented here) and you'll only uncover it by yourself later. Your choice. Have a nice day!
@livedreamplay: I see you missed the point of my post entirely. If I were born to enjoy, and thoroughly enjoy all the manly things I do, why would I enjoy playing as a female?
I have testosterone. It's the opposite of estrogen. I know you think men and women are the same, but we're not.
Stop trying to use blatantly fake and undocumented 'facts' to make yourself feel better about your desire to be a woman.
@GT_APE: I see you're completely failing to comprehend how things work, but I will still answer your question.
You would enjoy playing as a female because it has nothing to do with who you are. If you're ok mentally, then you can be 'manly' and enjoy associating with a girl, and you can be 'girly' and enjoy associating with a guy. Nothing to do with testosterone or estrogen, nothing to do with chromosomes, it's only your mind at work.
Again, you don't have to believe me, you'll find that out on your own later, after some more denial.
@livedreamplay: Each post your 'intelligence' plunges and your apparent homosexuality shines (nothing wrong with that, just don't force it on me).
I am a man. I have absolutely no desire to play as a female. Not one iota.
And you're saying I'm not normal if I don't "enjoy playing as a female"?
You're a joke and everyone is reading it here. Stop living in denial.
By the way? Do you not 'enjoy' any certain foods? Then I guess by your logic, you're not normal? Just go away. lol
@GT_APE: If you would've shut up after your first comment you would've been much better off, you're not only showing your mental insecurities, you're also showing your mental incompetence.
Yes, it's perfectly normal to enjoy stories/movies/games, regardless of the gender of the protagonist. And yes, if you specifically have an issue with that due to the gender, than you have some insecurities gender-wise, probably the reason you're lying to yourself by doing all those 'manly' activities.
And to go with your food reference, yes, if you don't enjoy certain foods because you saw a girl eating them, or because girls like them, then you are not healty from a mental perspective.
Run along, eat a piece of bacon, and convince yourself that you're a manly man lmao.
@livedreamplay: Ohh did I hit a nerve? Your tone suddenly changed. Did you realize everyone on this post was against your idiotic comments designed to advance your homosexual agenda on the forums? Did that backfire?
Yeah, you're not getting off this time. Again, your argument is unraveling with each desperate post.
You actually think I bought and drive a fast car (I've been driving fast cars since I was a teenager (which apparently you still are), I ride a powerful motorcycle (I've been riding motorcycles since I was eight years old), I lift weights, watch manly movies, and check out women and discuss them all the time (basically my entire life I love to look at and talk about girls with friends), and because I eat manly things, you are saying all of this is NOT because of who I am, but it is because I have gender insecurities?
You're a fucking idiot. A gay one (clearly). And again, nothing wrong with being gay. But don't force your fantasies on me.
Go watch a chick flick and cry.
@GT_APE: You notice how you suddenly became really offensive and started cursing? It's because you saw that my arguments make sense and you became defensive towards your crumbling masculinity. It's normal, it's not easy to accept that you have an issue.
I knew that I was right, but I didn't expect it to show this early.
Instead of calling other people gay, focus on what you would do if you found out that you yourself were gay, it's going to be your main problem going forward and it's not going to change by lifting weights and eating bacon, nor by avoiding female characters.
Best of luck.
@livedreamplay: No. I'm not letting you off that easy, Miss Butthurt. I called you a fucking idiot because you have demonstrated clearly you are (as everyone else on the thread agrees. Does that make you butthurt?).
You're sitting there in your pink panties as a butthurt gayboy who is trying to say a manly man is the one who is confused about his sexuality and that's a joke that will not go unpunished.
Go reread all my posts that prove this point. You're gay (or extremely effeminate) and you were hurt that some guys don't find pleasure in playing a game as a girl.
Go read a romance novel and cry Miss Butthurt.
@GT_APE: What are you doing, dude? You keep saying you're not letting me off that easy, yet all you do is keep proving to me that I'm right. Stop it before you sink even deeper into your sexual insecurity.
Calling me gay doesn't change your insecurity issue, at all! I already know I'm straight, so unlike you, I don't have to use bacon or lifting weights in order to tell myself that. N'or do I have to avoid female characters in games lmao.
So instead of continuing to make a fool out of yourself by throwing pointless insults, go see a psychologist and tell him about this, rather than coming out of the closet without any professional advice...
@livedreamplay: I'm calling you gay because you like to spend a lot of time making up baseless lies to make yourself feel better about how you enjoy playing as a girl. And you do that by telling a man like me that I'm 'insecure' because I don't want to play as a girl.
Go put on a dress (and if you do, I won't judge you. It's your life.). But don't ever tell me I'm insecure because I have absolutely no desire to play as a female.
Clearly everyone else posting agrees. Go reread it all.
@GT_APE: Why would I need to make myself feel better about playing with a girl, when everybody loves playing with girl protagonists, Tomb Raider is one of the most loved franchises in history for example. So instead of desperately trying to avoid the fact that it's not normal to avoid a protagonist because of the gender, you should focus on a psychologist that can help you with the insecurities, maybe come out of the closet smoother if it's the case.
Or you can continue denying it, maybe grab hands with the other 2 people that posted here cause you seem to have a lot of faith in them. Then you can deny those facts together lmao.
@livedreamplay: Nope. "Everyone loves playing with girl protagonists"? Cite your source please. Do you believe in unicorns too? You think you can make up ridiculous 'facts' and that makes you legitimate? WRONG.
You are the one sitting here taking a LOT of your time trying to convince the world you're the normal one because you (a man) "love" to play as a girl.
Now THAT is worthy of a LMAO.
@GT_APE: You're going to sit here and pretend that Tomb Raider is not a loved franchise? Or that it's only loved by the few girl gamers out there? Man I understand that you're desperate, it's normal to fight against accepting that your mental situation is not up to par, but at least do it in ways that don't make you look ridiculous. Keep eating that bacon and lifting those weights and hope that your gender insecurities will catch up as farther as possible down the road, although I still think you should prepare yourself for when the day comes. ;)
@livedreamplay: No. You fail again. Tomb Raider sales are irrelevant. Some people may relax their standards (full disclosure I owned and played the original Tomb Raider way back when. But I found it boring and didn't finish it.), that doesn't mean we all do. My preference (especially since I have ~40 unopened games in my closet) is to play who I am. A guy who likes to punch bad guys in the face and blow shit up, then burp (for example I loved the original Duke Nukem 3D. I can identify with that character - at least for fun.). I cannot identify with someone who puts on pink panties (one reason you and I don't get along). ;o)
Sorry but your fail argument won't stand here and your sweeping generalization that guys who don't "love" to play as girls only shows you know nothing about a good argument or psychology. (Neither of which allow for such generalizations).
Your argument is irrevocably flawed. Good bye sir (miss).
@GT_APE: I didn't say anything about sales, again, you're desperate to prove me wrong because of your insecurity, it's normal, but it's too bad that you're not willing to seek help.
It's fine dude, you don't have to accept what I'm saying or believe me, it's not about whether you believe me though, this is true whether you want it or not, whether you believe it or not.
Have good day, and take care.
@livedreamplay: I see now that you are afraid. You fear me because you know I bring knowledge that refutes your failed attempts at justifying your internal desire to play with barbie dolls.
It's ok mate. I am not judging you! To each his own. ;o)
@GT_APE: Ha, good to hear. Loving anti-heroes myself. If you didn't play The Last of Us yet, go for it, nicely developed anti-hero. And if you've seen the trailer for Part 2, seems like they're going for an anti-hero in the second one as well.
@livedreamplay: I will say I did enjoy both the recent Star Wars movies despite the female leads (Although admittedly I'm rooting for Kylo LOL). I like anti-heroes best (go Riddick). That may have some psychoanalysis needed to go behind it. :oP
@GT_APE:Nice to see your less douchy side. I did insinuate some things that are not a given in your case, but merely a possibility.
Those manly stuff that you enjoy are also enjoyed by 90% of the guys of the world, yet most of those guys have no issue in liking a girl protagonist. If the character is done right, you shouldn't care about gender, race, beliefs, skin-color, etc, because it's fictional, it's not you... You're just witnessing his/her story.
But I'm assuming it's mostly for show, in order to not stain your chauvinism. You'll grow older and see that those things matter less and less and you'll start enjoying and appreciating people/characters regardless of their gender. I guarantee it.
@livedreamplay: EEEEEEEEEEE [Fail sound]. When I spoke of my knowledge, I was just being a douche for fun.
I called you the homophobic slurs because you were doing the same to me (via insinuation) when all I said was I don't want to play as a female.
I can keep up the defense indefinitely because I know who I am (if anything, I am into women TOO MUCH. But every guy I talk to in the office is the same (the honest ones at least!)).
My points were, I listed off all the stuff I have enjoyed all my life (motorcycles, cars, models, manly sh*t) because that's what I ENJOY.
Sorry but I don't find it interesting that a woman with tiny arms can even LIFT a sword, let alone unleash destruction upon her enemies like a strong man can. (And I consider myself a feminist - but a realist.).
I just simply don't enjoy playing as a female. That does NOT mean I have insecurities about gender. Seriously, that's a very simple fact. Sometimes people have preferences that are simply preferences. Now although I enjoy a fun argument, I have to get back to work (where I just checked out a chick's ass!!! Sorry to be a chauvinist like that but we men do what we were born to do!!).
@GT_APE: That's really desperate of you man. I'm not saying that you're stupid or anything but thinking that anybody would be afraid of your knowledge is ridiculous even for you (and that says a lot, based on what you displayed in the previous comments).
Besides the lie of you having knowledge, now you're also lying with not judging me, when all you did is the previous comments was throw homophobic curses my way. Again, I don't think you're stupid because of it, because I really don't care, but you're not fooling anywone with statements like that (not even fooling yourself, I would guess).
Like I said before, you don't have to believe me, you can choose to cover everything with bacon and pretend it's not there, I told you what I think you should do, whether you consider that bullsh*t or whether you seek professional help is completely up to you.
Have a good day, and take care.
@livedreamplay: Your first sentence is an unsupported assertion, and also a blatant falsehood. There is nothing in psychology to back up the idea that a guy who likes to play video games as a guy is somehow insecure about his sexuality. At the same time, there is every indication in real life that people gravitate toward the familiar, and in the case of video game immersion very often prefer verisimilitude. For example, I have never played as a female in Skyrim. You also suggested GT_APE didn't know "what side of the fence" he was on. This is incendiary, unwarranted, and the kind of comment someone makes who is using the appearance of scientific language to attack another person. Assuming you actually think he is confused about his identity, you are then attacking him for that same disposition. Your comments are insincere, inflammatory, and undisciplined, and deliberately aggressive. Adding a smiley face at the end of such a post only makes you appear smug. Frankly, you don't know what you're talking about. The vast majority of men/boys who play skyrim do so as male characters. Your uneducated mind is literally accusing most players of being identity confused. There's nothing sinister or aberrant about a man who prefers role playing as a man. If you want to be perceived as intelligent, don't talk like a teenager who uses sanctimony to put other people down.
@coffeecup: "there is nothing in psychology to back up the idea that a guy who likes to play video games as a guy is somehow insecure about his sexuality"
What are you talking about, dude? I never said a guy that likes to play video games as a guy has insecurities. Read my comment again, and this time don't write walls of useless text unless you understand what's written.
@livedreamplay: That's a pretty dismal view on other people's utility. While I will, no problem, play a female character when playing a role (Tomb Raider, HZD, etc.) I would not choose to play one if given the choice....to each their own without your childish Freudian junk attributing the rationale.
@Daelusca: The "to each their own" thing only works if you're purposely trying to avoid the reason, which is understandable, cause it's easier to avoid things rather than face them. People that have a problem seeing things from the woman's perspective because it's not manly are most likely struggling with some insecurities up there. But hey, let's leave it at "to each their own".
@livedreamplay: "Cause" does not mean "because." They are two entirely different words. You're entire post thread here is an attempt to sound intelligent and morally superior, but all you've done is make up "facts" about psychology that aren't true, write with bad grammar, and use words that don't mean what you think they mean. Just stop. You've done nothing here but convince everyone that you're smug, pretentious, sanctimonious and know very little about psychology.
@coffeecup: First of all, I assumed you can easily notice that it's in place of 'because', my bad for assuming, next time I will be more specific so everybody can catch up.
Second of all, I'm not trying to sound intelligent, I am intelligent. Intelligent enough to know what I'm talking about. You can believe me or not, I don't really care.
@livedreamplay: Again take your Psych 101 and go away....your ilk and attempting to explain everyone else's rationale simply shows your idiocy. Get off your moral highhorse and deal with your own, very blatant, problems as a person.
@Daelusca: Choosing to ignore it and me going away doesn't change how true it is. But again, I get why you would choose this path, it's easier.
@livedreamplay: lmfao...I just read your post where you defended your intelligence,,,,come on...we both know you work retail somewhere and likely blog about your intelligence or worldview or just came back from some march or another....lol...thanks for the laughs.
@Daelusca: You're about as right with me working in retail as you are in all your other arguments, which should say a lot lol. Glad I managed to make you laugh, at least you have that going for you...
Another open world game with fetch quests. Boring.
@jimmydonegood: Maybe you prefer a game where you wake up in the morning, brush your teeth, go to work. Work eight hours. Come home. Take a dump. And go back to sleep?
@GT_APE: You're literally arguing that either a game has fetch quests or it is a life simulator that asks you to brush your teeth. When you think only in hyperbole, nobody will take you seriously and your comments will be irrational.
@coffeecup: And you're literally making a blatant assumption this game is boring and based on 'fetch quests' when you haven't even played the game. You think you drop a basic word like "hyperbole" and you look smart? Your entire post doesn't even make sense. My comments will be irrational? Stop acting so butt-hurt.
You didn't play the game (and even if you tried it, you didn't play the whole game), don't assume it's boring.
Great visuals, looks totally boring
@killerious: No gameplay or story will ever please EVERYONE. Sorry it's not doing it for you...
@livedreamplay: You accidentally stumbled upon the reason this looks unexciting: no story. Everything shown so far is gameplay, but no indication of a world or story that draws you in. That doesn't mean there won't be one, but as of right now they're doing a hard sell on the visuals and gameplay while ignoring story and world building. It's what developers and movie studios do when they're trying to capitalize on the younger market, i.e., consumers who have less experience and are more dazzled by visuals and cool looking skill trees. It DOES look boring. This is a legitimate reaction to advertising that ignores story and world building.
@coffeecup: What are you talking about, dude? There is exactly a trailer that explains the story, it's even called 'Story Trailer'. Obviously it doesn't explain everything, it would be stupid of them to go in-depth with that, but it presents the whole idea of the game.
@killerious: The man is not impressed with killing massive animal robots with awesome bows and swords.
Tough crowd to please!! :oP
