Hellboy | What We Learned About The New Movie At NYCC

Neil Marshall's upcoming Hellboy film starring David Harbour was at NYCC, and GameSpot's very own Mike and Greg were lucky enough to attend to the panel! Is the upcoming Hellboy 2019 looking like a blast, or is lacking the charm of Guillermo del Toro's Hellboy film starring Ron Perlman?

At New York Comic Con 2018 the world's first trailer from the upcoming Hellboy reboot was shown and, although it wasn't shown outside the halls of the convention centre, Mike and Greg are here to break down everything they've seen.

The iconic comic book character is played by David Harbour in his newest incarnation and the trailer began with voiceover from him warning of a "forever war." From there, we're given a quick look at what looks to be a mixture of an origin story for the character and a story that picks up in the middle of his life.

Hellboy is, of course, "mankind's best and only hope," and we're given a look at his flaming crown and sword, which fans of the character will know alludes to Hellboy's true name, "Anung Un Rama," which translates to "and upon his brow is set a crown of flame."

Hellboy creator Mike Mignola was also at the panel, and you can learn about what he said, as well as what Mike and Greg thought of the trailer, in the video above. Hellboy is scheduled to hit theaters April 12, 2019.
