I stopped playing D3 for a while too, but came back when they released this guy, he's def alot of fun to play with I did a full review of him https://youtu.be/WkJP1-cizaE
Lame class. I will pass.
Why playing all acts again, that I know everthing in D3? Its useless,
Cool. I've been taking an extended break from D3, but I look forward to getting back into it when this comes out.
it would be great if you can change the race you play as in diablo I do not want to play as a white man necromancer. original necromancers were black men.
Looks nice, i just hope that this "expansion" wont be the size of a small dlc...
Honestly it could have been nice if they did with Diablo the same thing they did in SC2, where they keep on releasing maps for free and new characters for 5$.
But sadly it is not likely to work for Diablo because it takes so much more effort per each new character. Just imagine how much work is needed to integrate a new class to every part of D3...
Anyhow i am probably going to buy this, people can complain as much as they want but i think that Diablo3 is a great game.
And between, Comparing it to POE is just wrong because POE is a f2p game which has to keep releasing new content to survive, while Diablo3 is a game you buy once and good day... The patches and updates are given as an extra.
Welp, D4 anyone? I'll just pass on this.
3 words... Path of Exile.... or give us at least D4, D3 is sooo dead, even a master necro cant revive it :-)
@mari3k: It's not dead..lol. Way more players than POE..and I play both games
@mari3k: Millions of people are still playing, stop trying to look hip.
@jack00: Lol D3 servers are pretty much a wasteland right now. People gets online with every new ladder reset, after that the game returns to it's normal comatose state.
@gothsalvation: Check your facts, you'd save yourself from looking like a tool.
@jack00: "Millions" lol ,you blizzdrones are so funny.
Diablo 3 gets a $10-15 Necromancer dlc in October while Path of Exile gets a FREE 6 new acts expansion around the same time.
Only reason they are releasing the Necromancer is because all the current classes of the game are terrible and uninteresting. So they finally release a class that people actually want to play....but for a price.
@atrax_morgue: Typical angry nerd calling names without the slightest clue. I didn't play diablo in about 4 months nor any other blizz games.
@atrax_morgue.: Actually Diablo does have quite a fanbase (and Im not even playing it right now). Path of Exile sucks. Period.
D3 is better, "POE-drones" you could say the same thing, I dont play either game anymore, D3 is more polished (they even had a big article about this recently)
LOL so many MORE people are playing D3 vs POE (its not even funny)
POE=was dead upon arrival (DOA)
its dead now it sucks, type it in google, gets 100s of publications talking about
1.87 million current D3 players (technically) if you add in WST (and LDR players) you'd have well over 2 million. You cant even compare the two, NOBODY talks about POE. I have that boring sin of a game on my desktop and it hasn't been touched in over a year. http://www.requnix.com/diablo-3-vs-path-of-exile
I mean just look at the reviews (breaking down each individual aspect of the game/in-game mechanics).
Overall D3 is for the more casual player (and in a way thats better, considering its bug-free, easier to jump in/out of) the only good thing about POE is the trading system and one could argue "its more for the hardcore player" yea...and it looses its luster IN that same comparison, I mean if your looking for an isometric ARPG w/ RNG elements you really only have 2-3 options in todays gaming climate...and fact of the matter D3 is a better developed game, cleaner, easier to play (jump in / jump out of) you can play a few days, weeks, months (and go back to whatever other game you were interested in). Why even debate opinion though, I played POE extensively for awhile (and I read every now & then the reviews for current / most recent patches/updates) sure it has something for those who want this dedicated niche-following. Oh and as for the "final report" on POE saying "Desync is now a thing of the past for more players" THAT I KNOW is a complete and total joke (a bald-faced lie). I can ask MANY players (or former players of POE) and they said flat out "yea it still has major issues in that department, I quit particularily b/c of that. With the recent Prophecy (2.3) patch I found the game uglier & w/ bigger issues in those same said areas (that this article clearly outlines) - it has a thriving community YET it has still
1) some major desync issues in many areas
2) harsh death penalty (no its not challenging just annoying)
3) a LACK of a complete in-game trading system
4) buggy (which sorta is worn/treaded territory that refers back to #1)
5) forced labyrinths
6) nearly impossible to achieve "max" level.
Only cons I can see is
1) thriving community
3) character builds/diversity
Basically all the same things THIS comparison chart detailed.
I still dont feel POE is a better game, its lackluster in many areas that D3 makes up for (in overall design, clean-settings, no bugs/frame-rate issues even on mid-ranged PCs, dont even CONSIDER the console version - for some games consoles are fine, for Diablo its a no brainer). For me the biggest issues arent really the IN game mechanics as they are "connectivity, in-game menus, bug-free, & downtime and while many could argue graphics DONT matter (they sorta do, whether you're willing to admit that or not. Trading/Crafting & Social Channels/Population are the only areas I'd say POE is a clear-winner. Path of Exile is just not a good game, and its definetly not a game for everyone. In the end doesn't matter with so many offline/single-player experiences I don't even have to touch POE or D3...but If I were to play an online rpg, be it MMO or a F2P ARPG (regardless of sub-genre I would mess with WoW or D3 before I would POE....butttt to each their own.
@Itzsfo0: So for what I can tell PoE = hard = It sucks, D3 = easy = I love it
Also you understand PoE is a free game, right? You don't have to pay a single dime to access the entire content and for a dead game surely is getting a lot of content lately.. yeah sure the engine sucks ass, it suffers from severe FPS lost in several areas but do you seriously think D3 looks better? It runs better, yes but it looks like the bastard child of WoW and D2, the whole atmosphere the first two games (especially D1) managed to create was throw out the window in favor of this nickelodeon style.
Let's take your points:
1. The game rarely desyncs, it was a major pain in the early days but you rarely see it now.
2. Harsh penalty dead? You mean losing a bit exp? Remember D2 did the same exact thing? I don't get this point really. All I can say is stop sucking and you will stop dying.
3. With the Auction House gone how exactly do you trade en D3? Even more, who the **** trades in D3 AT ALL? When the game throws you some much loot and nearly every piece of gear is "soulbound" to your account trading becomes pretty much a irrelevant.
4. What are this "bugs" you speak of? Again maybe in early stages of the game but right now? The only bug I can't speak was a problem with multi threading which caused the game to crash in some areas but they released a patch two days after this problem was found to fix it.
5. Forced labyrinths? I seriously don't get this point. Normal act maps are pretty easy to figure out, the only "labyrinth" of the game is actually called LABYRINTH! Go figure.
6. Again, remember D1/D2? It was near "impossible" to reach max level. This is not WoW you don't need to reach max level in order to get the best gear, to beat the hardest maps.
In D3 all you do is reach max level in a day, run the same rifts over and over and over AND OVER again, get the best gear in a few days and that's it. For a game focused in "end game" since you get to max level so fast there is pretty little to do.
Is kinda sad Grinding Gear Games a small New Zealand studio can put out a game with more complexity and content than Blizzard :/
@gothsalvation: I play both POE and D3 and like both games for pretty much the reasons you listed. D3 is more polished but also a bit more casual. Basically you have to play D3 in hardcore or it's just too boring. POE hardcore is a scary monster.
The D3 end game is basically the GR ladder. I reached top 100 with a hardcore barb last season for a bit...it's fun and it's challenging to compete with others!
